🌡#stitchghan temperature blanket : January - December recorded. 🤗❤
This is an experiment using stitches to represent temperature averages rather than color. Now to decide what sort of border to add. 🙄
The best thing about this crochet experiment is definitely cost. Working with only one color, my current investment is less than three jumbo skeins. And there's no ends to weave from color changes! Actually, that may be the best thing about this experiment. 😂
The down side is some of my stitch bands are tighter than others. Hopefully the edging will help it to lay better. Ugh. TBD...
Guess what? I finished this monster yesterday! So much time, effort and yarn went into this. But I'm so proud of having it finished!
The weather last year was stressful though! Having to buy extra colours because it got hotter then it has been in a long time or ever resulting in higher high averages then I had planned for. But also having to buy more of the dark yellow and green because they were used so much both for high and low averages
But hey, I got it done! 💪 This is by far the largest, most time and yarn consuming project I have ever made to date.
I have also learned a few things, like that my tension is different when I’m extremely stressed (beginning of the year) as opposed to being less stressed
Pattern is Lazy Waves by Dedri from Lookatwhatimade and the yarn I used was Colour Crafter from Scheepjeswol.
Starting a winter tempghan, wish me luck!
Tempghan, Week Three!
I tried to post this yesterday but tumblr ate it (of course). It’s been cold, cold enough for magenta, and more purple and dark blue. It’s getting more and more like it’s gonna be a blanket one day, which yay! I started weaving in the ends and thank god, gotta stay on top of that, because two weeks took about an hour and a half.
Next update will be the first full month!! Eeeeee!!
January Tempghan Update
Well. It’s not all of January, obviously, because I had to frog and start over. I also need to frog the last row you see there because I accidentally knit the wrong day (deep sigh).
I know I was really looking forward to monthly updates but this one feels really shitty. I am liking it much better with the borders between panels and it is worth it, but. Man it sucks.
January had a huge temperature range, from a low of 6f to a high of 67f. The lows change the most, which is interesting, I’m curious why but don’t have a clue. There have been days with huge ranges and days with virtually none. The largest number of days where at least one panel didn’t change color was six days, which is an awful lot. You’re supposed to be able to see all of that but of course you can’t and I’m going to stop here before I start crying.
I’m not sure what February will have in store for me. I have surgery on the 5th and idk when I’ll be able to knit again afterwards, plus I have all the catching up to do already, never mind however many days I have to take off to recover. Fingers and toes crossed I don’t get too far behind.
Well that’s it, folks. Four weeks of tempghan frogged, all over four stitches.
Honestly, it’s fine, it’s early in the year, I made other mistakes that were bugging me, and now I can have it the way I really want it. I’m a little worried about catching up, especially with my surgery next week, but it’ll be okay, I’ll get there eventually. It’s really easy knitting, and I’m working on making it more portable, too. I’d start casting on again but it’s 6:27am and I haven’t slept yet, so I’m gonna leave that for tomorrow!me.

Almost there - yay! Just another couple days to average temps for the last week of December! 🤗❤ Thanks @marybegone prompting for an update on this year-long WIP!
So, whatcha think: maybe a color legend made of tassels? 🙄
