I think I am officially Fandom Old. I am so worn out from the arguments on who's the top or the bottom (who cares), what is allowed to be written (anything you want, bejeebus), what is Problematic (I know, just tag it), what other people Should Do (they Should live their lives free of judgment). There isn't a Right Way to do things. Tag your stuff appropriately, don't read stuff you don't want to read, and leave other people (me) alone.

I wish I could go to a doctor and just list every single symptom I ever experienced no matter how small and unconnected they seem and the doctor is nice and patient and knows everything and they nod and smile and explain that every symptom I ever experienced is connected to like one rare and often overlooked issue that's sooooo easy to fix with like. a pill. and then I never have to worry about anything ever again.

Makes me a bit sad when an animal is called fat-tailed or fat-bodied or just fat, and people leave tags like "nooo don't call him that." I think "fat" is a compliment to most species on Earth. A fat mouse (Steatomys pratensis) who is actually fat is so good at surviving and doing what it was born to do. "Fat" is never an insult, but especially not when it's applied to a species whose sole purpose is to eat, breed, and enjoy what pleasures the world has to offer.

Makes me a bit sad when I make a post about how "fat" is not an insult and many of the replies feel a moral obligation to explain the difference between healthy and unhealthy fat. "Unhealthy" is also not an insult.

Makes me a bit sad when I make a post about how 'fat' and 'unhealthy' are morally neutral words and people take it to mean that pet obesity is not concerning, and that you shouldn't try to keep your pets healthy. Overfeeding is animal neglect. That doesn't mean 'fat' or 'unhealthy' are insults. It also doesn't mean people who overeat are neglecting themselves, since people have agency, unlike pets. Please stop conflating physical states-of-being with moral worth.

well the good news is I've decided on background and inner border and sashing and border and even backing fabrics. the bad news is I've also decided to quilt on the go--which is great, and way more practical for me, but it means I can't start sewing until I get at minimum background + inner border fabric, and then I have to get all the fabric and backing at once for as I go. which is a lot of money.

so.

HADES quilt is on hold for now whilst I save up.

and uhh also decide if I'm gonna keep the cornerstones on the blocks or just do the one border color. quilt mockup makes me think maybe no cornerstones but idk we'll see.

thought it’d be fun to document my HADES quilt design process and ideally maybe even the making of it, assuming i manage to follow through ✨

each solid will be the center and have an embroidered temporary tattoo on it, and have patterned star points. i haven’t figured out a background fabric yet and forgot for most of the day i’ll need one before i can start sewing so there’s that. also don’t have any sashing, borders, binding, backing, or batting, but uhh. it’s fine.

hoping to find some art deco cream-on-cream for the background and black-on-black for sashing and border but we’ll see. idek if that exists let alone affordably and also i believe i have seven dollars in my bank account so. we really will see.
