Temple Debod
Today was kind of a kick-ass day. First if all, my friend from home went into labor. Yayy Andrea! Can't wait to meet your new twins!
Secondly, my friend Celena and I spent the day exploring Madrid and I kind of felt like a real madrillena. For our history class we were all given an assignment to do research on a historic building/monument/statue in Madrid. Celena and I picked Temple Debod.
After class we took the metro to Plaza de Espana and looked for our historic monument. Turns out, it was cooler than I could have imagined. The Temple is probably the oldest building in Spain. Temple Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple and was donated to Spain as a thanks from Egypt for helping preserve other temples. It was really interesting and something to definitely see in Madrid!
