Last Sunday, my Butler 11th Ward (#SaltLakeCity #ButlerWest Stake) heard a presentation from the #TempleSquareSisters on how the #TempleSquareMission operates and what the #sisters official #AssignedDuties consist of. To the left is Sister Leavitt who is from Orem, Utah which is a mere 45 miles (70km) away from #downtownSLC. I was quite surprised a call so geographically close to home would be issued given such a close proximity to family & friends, all of whom she must avoid any direct contact with except the weekly preparation day emails. All a very strict separation protocol designed to keep one focused on the work & assigned duties. Sister Glanzer (on the right) is from Washington state, somewhat further away. #LDSMissionaryService teaches both #Elders & #Sisters a #workethic that will be needed in #highereducation & eventually in the work force, helping those #CalledToServe attain the #Knowledge #Skills & #Abilities to succeed. #accountability & #Responsibility for #TimeServed being a critical element. Learning to work hard, but also learning to work effectively. All this under combat conditions. (at Temple Square)
