Alte Damen mobil – Teil IV: Das neue Auto

Frau N. sitzt im Café und wartet auf Frau D. Frau D. scheint sich ungewöhnlich zu verspäten. Frau N. liest schon mal das Feuilleton der NZZ.

D.s haben ein neues Auto. Die alte Rostlaube hat nach zahllosen Pannen und Ärgernissen ihren Geist aufgegeben. Das neue Auto ist klein, wendig, von edlem Design und mit einem rasanten Motörchen ausgestattet. Freudig will Frau D. losbrausen zum Treffen mit der Freundin. Aber sie kann Gas geben wie sie will, das Ding kommt kaum vom Fleck. Mit 20 km/h zuckelt Frau D. daher. Wütend unternimmt sie im Schneckentempo den Umweg zum Nachbardorf in die Garage, verlangt den Chef und pflaumt ihn an, was er ihnen da wieder für eine Pannenkiste angedreht habe.

Schliesslich stellt sich heraus, dass Herr D. am Vorabend auf dem Heimweg durch das verkehrsberuhigte und mit Radarfallen gespickte Wohnquartier den Tempomat eingeschaltet hat. Frau D. hat noch nie von so etwas gehört.

Frau D. erscheint schliesslich im Café und hat etwas zu lachen. Frau N. muss zugeben, dass sie keine Ahnung hat, ob sich in ihrem Auto auch so eine Einrichtung befindet. Nun, sie braucht diese auch nicht, da sie von fünf verfügbaren Gängen sowieso meist nur die ersten drei benutzt.
