honestly idc what content creators someone watches for content, idc who you hyperfixate on and go to for comfort or stability if the shit the creator is doing has no intensive real world consequence. i’m not gonna ask you to stop watching someone because i personally don’t forgive them for something they said

mr beast? donated 26K to eugenics, that is a nonrefundable real world consequence. he used his power and notoriety to directly hurt autistic children, i personally avoid mr beast’s audience for this reason

a content creator making a mildly insensitive annoying joke years ago? a content creator being unintentionally hurtful while making an active effort to not hurt people? a content creator that’s making an effort to change past behavior? that is something you can improve. either you forgive them or you don’t, that’s your choice. all you can do is move on from there

someone posting about a content creator on their tumblr blog isn’t hurting anyone. block them, make posts saying you don’t forgive the creator on your own blog and move on

going after people and bullying people because you personally don’t forgive a content creator however DOES directly hurt people, it DOES create a chain reaction of hate.

being unsympathetic and mean to people trying to cope because you don’t forgive a content creator will make me avoid you. some kid watching philza will not make me dislike them. these content creators are just. people. making content and trying to make people’s days better

people on twt decided that dream needed to follow more black stans to get educated, but when he listened and he told people that he did what they said, more people had an issue.

it’s inherently flawed to tell content creators HOW to solve issues or HOW to make it up to a minority because minorities aren’t a hivemind. not everyone is going to agree, it depends on how lenient people are or if they even want to forgive him!

start by telling content creators what they did and why it hurt you and let them decide what course of action to take instead of electing one popular stan account to give them a list of instructions to follow.

not all black people are the same. i didn’t care about the original comment. for other black people, the charles tweet was the last straw. i don’t care about that tweet and i don’t care about the fuckin normal pills situation.

now to switch things up! my thoughts about the aftermath of dream’s reply! (here’s where i start to get a bit dream critical)

what i care about is black people getting harassed and doxxed which is what happened.

in my opinion, the issue in the case of dwt isn’t that hes antiblack. it’s that he’s ignorant on antiblackness and toxicity within his community, which is not surprising (this isn’t an insult btw). in my opinion, he should get a social media manager to help him with situations like this or prevent them from happening at all.

a best case scenario would be him getting off of twitter and finding a less toxic environment to learn about racism, but i doubt that will happen.

to learn about racism, you need to listen to the community experiencing it. the issue with twitter is that genuine education gets overshadowed by people who’s opinion is essentially “dream sucks because my mutuals showed me a thread on twitter dot com” it’s just not a good place! and it’s not a good place to be educated in place of being told what to do by thousands of people at once

i don’t really have a point about how we can fix this because. as long as dream’s only source is one incredibly negative site, no change can really be made. i just want people to be nicer man.... show some sympathy towards each other... being frustrated with society makes sense, but things won’t change if we both insult and make no attempt to help people who are just Learning.

you aren’t obligated to forgive Anybody but the vitriol shown to people who are trying to improve.... nahhhh
