”i’m gonna miss you, you know.”
There was a palpable pause as Sasori packed his scrolls into Hiruko. Sasori had never been missed. He left his tribe when he was young and hurting, and no one thought to seek him out —not even Granny, who probably took a few days to notice. He hopped off the next one in search of beauty and met little resistance, which was expected-- being the oddity of a bunch of oddities.
The children of the desert liked to remind themselves that they were all subject to the shifting desert sands, buried and forgotten at the gods' whims. Sasori sought to be something more than that. And yet, he wasn't entirely sure what to do once he is that--- at least something... to someone.
"I'll miss you too," Sasori turned to Tobirama, a smile slipping out despite himself. "I'll be back in a few months. Maybe three," three is a good number, he thought to himself. Perhaps earlier, if the desert gods permit safe passage. "And I'll bring back some things!" Poisons, of course. He'll milk whatever vipers he would pass by-- perhaps a whole nest of them. "And books... I know someone who is in charge of a whole library of books! They mentioned one that had a dual soul theory--- we could study that."
