…This realm was a mess.
With the sheer number of different species and people he’d seen thus far, it was a marvel that so many of them were able to uphold any semblance of organization and peace. (Though, how much of it was attributable to the work of these scientists who robbed him–and likely the citizens around him as well–of his abilities and weaponry was yet to be seen.) Kouen had been walking for what felt like the past half-hour now, deciding to first peruse the city as best he could to better understand his situation, and he still found himself seeing someone remarkably different with each passing step.
Perhaps the fault truly was his, then, for not paying enough attention to where he was going until he found himself colliding with another passerby on the street. But he was royalty, and the highest ranked among them for years; apologizing first had been forced off his nature much too long ago to recall with ease.
“It’d do you better to watch your step.”
