lmaooo, that was me back then. i’m sure we all go through this. it just takes persistence and a lot of curiosity to know how things work. i thought it would be easy but then i realized that i didn’t want to be a script-kiddy so i really had to dig in and study.. sure it looks fun in movies but it actually consists of waiting, learning basic admin stuff first, asking IT people 1 birrion software questions and getting side-eye from them, looking up shit 1000000x, looking for info in a wall of horrible code, confusion, more waiting, hitting a wall when i need to figure out something and failing, going great lengths to protect my ass with another person’s IP. and of course more checking and wondering “this is really dumb and i’m doing this”.
when i finally get to see how the target website works, my end comment isn’t “i’m in”, it’s “haha i wasted 4 hours to prove i can do this”. i’m sure there are much more efficient ways now but i’m really outdated lmao. such powerful lore though, it was really inspirational. 2011 was best year but now i just want to be a cacti farmer and read chem books while doodling.
