Term boosting! (1/?)
I wanted to try putting similar terms in the same place, to help questioning people narrow down their search :] All of these terms are genderless, neutral, undefined, or unexplained in some way! Terms with an asterisk (*) may be considered xenogenders.
*Genderfree: An undefined gender basis in which gender is not present, when gender is insignificant or irrelevant to the individual; A gender identity which is generally ambiguous, but definitely queer in nature. Gender-freeness will tend to pursue expressions, presentations and such without concern for gender associations associated with them. A blurry, cloudy, whimsical, free sense of gender.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gendernull: The absence of gender, but it is not agender or neutrois. It is a term for those to give a “tangibility” to the intangible thing that is their gender. Gendernull has been described as: "undefinable, intangible, the uncreation of gender... an 'I don’t want a label because labels don't fit but they help shut people up sometimes, so here have a label' gender label. A fall-back plan, a red herring to give people who can't conceptualize the absence, void, nullification of gender... Nonexistent but present."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neutrois: A nonbinary gender identity that is associated with having a neutral or null gender. It is an umbrella term, with each person experiencing neutrois differently. Common definitions include feeling neutrally gendered- feeling neither male, female, nor anything in between, but still feeling strongly gendered (similar to maverique or aporagender). Another common definition is feeling null-gendered, genderless or agender- some genderless individuals may identify as both agender and neutrois, while others may prefer one term or the other.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agender: A complete genderlessness, or the lack of gender. It is a nonbinary identity in which one is not male, female, or any other gender. They may identify as most strongly as just a person, rather then as any given gender.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Genderblank: A gender identity where the individual cannot explain it. The individual cannot describe it in any way but a blank space that could be confusing. They could also believe their gender is similar to a blank space or all that comes to mind is a blank space. It can also be considered part of the agender spectrum if the person feels some connection to genderlessness.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apogender: A subset of agender in which one feels not only genderless but entirely removed from the concept of gender.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gendergender: A gender that is unexplainable and can only be identified as gender and nothing else. It is similar to comgender but is specifically for those who have unexplainable genders.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
⚠️ Note: Some terms overlap with others, and that’s okay! Just because people have similar experiences, that doesn’t mean they should have to define themselves in the same, standardized, ~correct~ way. Embrace diversity, reject identity policing! 💖
