Today marks the day my favorite cartoon character ever made his theatrical debut eighty years ago in "Porky's Duck Hunt": Daffy Duck. I always found Daffy the most interesting animated specimen during the golden age of animation. Is he a hero? Is he a villain? Is he optimistic? Is he bitter? Is he courageous? Is he a coward? Is he crazy? No matter who directed, voiced, designed this malleable mallard, he has always kept me entertained and to this day continues to inspire me in how I approach my own characters. I wanted to pay tribute by drawing him in every possible way he was portrayed in the past eighty years. Will the real Daffy Duck Please Stand Up?! Happy Eightieth Birthday! Whoo hoo hoo! #looneytunes #daffyduck #80thbirthday #warnerbros #termiteterrace
Two Radio Shows
I was a guest on two NY radio shows recently--on July 20th I played four songs from Currents live on Adam Downey’s Test Press show on Little Water Radio (listen to it here), and then on July 27th I stopped by Tyler Maxin’s Termite Terrace on WNYU to play some rarities from my back pages--concentrating on oldies like Love Child, Run On, Rudolph Grey, the Max Factory, etc. Check it out here.
