Top ten Slade ships ?

I spent forever thinking about this and oh buddy i don’t know if i even have ten slade ships 😭

My biggest Slade Ships were Slade/Raven and Slade/Terra but that was mainly when i was a kid and i haven’t really shipped them in years for obvious reasons. My main ship is Slade/Arthur(Dr. Light)

and after that Slade/Trigon

then Slade/Addie

and then yeah the gate guardian crackship

do u think Tara can swim

oh we’re asking the important question. in my head (because this is the making shit up about tara blog) she grew up pretty poor after leaving markovia so swimming was kind of a luxury and she either never learned or learned a little but wasn’t very good at it. however when slade hired her he trained her in a lot of stuff including swimming so now she can.

my favorite is either NTT or the JC movie tara. if you ignore the writer’s intentions and have sympathy in your heart for tara then NTT is a really amazing look at how abuse can affect troubled teenagers. it’s not, but i can pretend.

rebirth tara is. interesting. i liked that priest actually let her have her own interests but i think having her just get betrayed by slade again was just an unsatisfying ending. and then they did it again. and fucking tubed her. they tubed my daughter

the JC movie rlly shined when it came to tara. slade’s motivations could have been way more fleshed out but like i’ve said before the way it makes tara sexualizing herself so incredibly uncomfortable to watch is really cool even if i usually just skip ahead. i think that tara becoming more fond of the titans was a little rushed but that’s usually the case with movies so i can forgive it. the fact that she started liking gar even though he was still pretty shitty to her was dumb though

i will give a shoutout to tt03 for showing grooming in a way that was appropriate for kids while still being deeply tragic. also tara was legitimately allowed to be a bad person as slade’s apprentice, and obviously a lot of that was the grooming but i still do like to see her getting to be an asshole

i have no idea if i’ve read n52 tara… probably not… i can’t remember anything

maybe my least favorite version overall is ttg tara. i adore how unapologetically evil she is and that slade really is not involved at all but i don’t think she has nearly as much depth as usual

if you could make any one thing abt Tara permanently canon about Tara, and no writer can change it, what would it be ?

i think tara’s most basic motivation should be insecurity. she should be a teenage girl who hates herself and tries to make up for that in the most self destructive ways possible. she smokes. she flirts with a guy old enough to be her dad. she manipulates the only people in the world who care about her and ultimately betrays them for a man who doesn’t care if she lives or dies.

like i’ve said before this makes more sense and is more compelling to me than her being a heartless little bastard. plus it would force writers to be a little nicer to her

Do you have any random Tara hcs that you haven’t had the chance to mention?

i hc that tara doesn’t speak markovian or is veery bad at it and that only makes her feel worse about herself and her heritage. brion speaks in markovian to her when they reunite and she’s like erm… about that… and even though he brushes it off she’s deeply embarrassed
