The Grateful Dead

I ran across this clipping in a Facebook group page, which sent me into my scan files. My process date for the photo is “11-77″ and so It’s safe to say I was at this concert—I only wish I’d taken a better picture! This would have been around the time of Terrapin Station as I recall.

“Heaven Help The Fool” was the second solo album by #gratefuldead rhythm guitarist Bob Weir, released in 1978. It was recorded during time off from touring, in the summer of 1977, while Grateful Dead drummer #mickeyhart recovered from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident. #bobweir returned to the studio with Keith Olsen, having recorded #terrapinstation with the producer earlier in the year. Several well-known studio musicians were hired for the project, including widely used session player #waddywachtel and Toto members #davidpaich and #mikeporcaro .
