Inspiration
A Malay House from Terengganu State. Note the Clay roof shingles, they are still handmade to this day in Kelantan state. These houses were designed to be naturally cooled and were very open. The posts and joists of these building were usually made from Cengal or Balau wood, which is insect and rot resistant. Sadly the price of wood has become too expensive and this style of architecture is not used so much anymore, with people preferring to live in brick and concrete homes with air conditioning.
