In case you want something new! and fresh! - Les Forces Contraires by Terrenoire. They're an indie-pop French duo (they're brothers!), and have this super cosy, melodic vibe that I think you might enjoy ☺️

Okay, you were absolutely right about me probably liking these guys! The first song his me like an absolute gutter punch. I’m not entirely sure why, but it managed to hit home. It’s very simplistically poetic as well! I think the best way to describe it would be looking at your kid self and wondering when and where everything changed. So, I’d definitely say 60 falaises is a stand out so far.

Forever now thinking about the line “J'ai peur comme toi mais j't'aime plus que tout” in je veux un courage, they fucking ATE with that. Gives off the vibe of a villain finding sanctuary within a s/o; overall bop.

Misére is also damn good, (what a surprise; I’m getting attached to all the sad ones!), like the overall beat is awesome. Tbh I’m imagining Odysseus and his soldiers on the way home from Troy for some reason? I think it may be because the Thunder Saga came out for Epic yesterday though, lol.

The entirety of se revoir is just real tbh 😭; “J'veux bien qu'on se revoie, mais j'ose pas te le dire” and “J'ai peur de mes sentiments” are just. Yeah. Real.

Les météores is so softly beautiful. I love how, throughout the album so far, there’s a constant theme of fire and light. “J'ai pas de mots, non, si; je t'aime, on fera de ces moments un peu d'or pur” is so sweet. I also love the dichotomy in this; meteors destroy what and where they land (I mean, hey, look at the dinosaurs), but can help change the environment for better and allow for new life. This one just feels very warm to me, like the sun on your face when you were younger.

Le temps de revenir à la vie may or may not have got a tear or two out of me. Very much so ‘life is flashing before my eyes and I have to admit, I think I’m at peace with this. But then there’s you’. I love the ending line of “La mort, la mer, l'amour, la lumière”. Death, the sea, love, light. What a thing to live for.

Jusqu'à mon dernier souffle. That hurt. All I need to say there.

Ca va aller also got me in my chest. Love how the ending half was phrased as more of a conversation rather than lines of lyrics. Felt like I was being given a hug and told to hold on a little longer; it was really sweet!

J’ai écouté hier soir ce disque et je le trouve vraiment beau. Assez unique. J’aime la sincérité qui s’en dégage, les arrangements, subtils et minimalistes. Un disque de guérison.
