The Traveller Sets Out Again .. " You have to go back to the footsteps already taken, to go over them again or add fresh ones alongside them. You have to start the journey anew. Always."
The fragment can be found in Journey to Portugal, a book José Saramago wrote after touring his own country, as if he’d never known it.
The Tourist finds, the Traveler seeks
A museum system usually is meant for guaranteeing high-quality standards.
That is the case of The Territorial Museum System of Prenestini Mountains and Valle del Giovenzano so-called "Pre.Gio." Located a few kilometers from Rome, it consists of artistic, naturalistic, scientific and ethno-anthropological museums.
Every museum included in the System through its specificity and vocation contributes to presenting and describing this territory according to its uniqueness.
Art and architecture, nature and landscape, tradition and crafts, coexist in this artistic unicum, composing a mosaic of beauty and charm spread over a multiform and colorful territory, ready to be disclosed in the eyes of the traveler.
Overview
Pre.Gio currently belongs to the Regional Museum Organization of Lazio, a system of 147 museums among public and private sectors, which represent a benchmark for the territory favoring policies for the integration and development of cultural heritage and landscape at the regional level.
