Sonya’s Folly is a beautiful tri-thermal polish that shifts from dark plum purple, to a bright royal purple, to a beautiful medium pink with increasing warmth. #Repost @tesladaynails with @make_repost ・・・ Tonight I also wanted to share a quick post about Feather Dust, the glossy top coat from @parrot_polish. I actually use a couple different top coats depending on the purpose/style of nail art/desired longevity of the mani I’m doing. I have another indie top coat that I love for a really beautiful, wet-look, glossy finish, but I can’t use it too much because I sometimes get dizzy due to sensitivity to some of the compounds. (I tend to lean over my hand when painting my nails, so even in a well-ventilated space, I breathe in some of the volatile compounds.) Because of this, I often use a drugstore top coat when I’m doing a lot of manis in one sitting, but thought it would be nice to support another indie brand! So, I decided I would buy this top coat to try recently and it worked great! It was fairly quick drying and definitely left a nice glossy finish! The lovely Lizmo @nailsoflizmo put this collab together for her nephew, Ryno @ryan_flit19. The theme was yellow and orange and bones! I kinda interpreted the theme a bit liberally, and instead of the OI symbol or human bones, I did dinosaur bones over some fluid art! #Repost @tesladaynails with @make_repost ・・・ So for the #clairestelle8uberchic starry night prompt, I, like many others, thought of the famous painting by van Gogh. Of course, with my freehand skills, there’s no way I could do a replication of the artwork, or even justice to the style. Instead, I opted for a sort of messy, abstract stamping in similar colors that I hoped would be reminiscent of the painting. Not sure I succeeded, but I had no other ideas! So, here it is haha 🤷‍♀️ For this, I started with a base of @parrot_polish Pitch Black and dabbed a bit of Darkest Before the Light over it. #Repost @tesladaynails with @make_repost ・・・ So I noticed I’ve been on a bluish/purple/magenta kick lately, and although I do have other colors coming up, I figured I would do one more post with a polish of the purple family! This is Smooth Jazz, an amazing tri-thermal from Parrot Polish. It’s absolutely stunning! The coolest state is a deep purple, the middle a icy periwinkle blue tone, and the warm state is a sort-of sheer/cream color, all of them packed with shimmer! And what’s more amazing is this is the shift I got just after painting my nails- I didn’t even need to dip in water to get all three colors, which are slightly more visible on the second and third photo! This probably has less to do with the polish and more with my weird finger temps, but it was still exciting!
