Did a test pour today that turned out pretty good. I wanted to see what happened if i used hot water in my base instead of cold. Waiting to see how it looks dry so hopefully it doesnt look bad.

Test pieces on canvas, experimenting with how the chemicals react to the canvas as the primer in this case gesso can interfere with the results produced from your cyanotypes. Both canvases were treated the same except the first one was exposed for 15 minutes and the 2nd was exposed for 25, the ghostly look is quite interesting, I’m glad that an image still showed after watching the cyanotype rinse away as it’s harder to penetrate through the canvas hence why I applied several coats of cyanotype solution. The texture of the canvas has produced some mark making within the cyanotype which gives a warped effect to the overall work which I like as it responds well to my subject and the intention is to create a warped, distressed image reflecting the clear image of the calico overtop of the canvases which will be the next job in preparation for the degree show. I will be exposing my finals for around 10-15 minutes as 25 minutes was too long.
This is just the first layer. If all goes according to my vision, it’s gonna looks badass.
