Whelp I'm gonna have to tear it apart to make the corners line up better but it's a start. This was about 5 hours of work from initial cutting to taking the picture at the bottom. I like the overall effect though.
This is all scrap fabric since my mom said I needed to do a proof version first before I worked on the final version.
border
it is always, without fail, amazing how putting a border on a quilt top totally changes the whole damn thing. like, it goes from being one animal to another. even if you have an idea in your head, "oh, if i do this, i'll get this..." it is always a surprise.
i got my mystery quilt top done today! one more border strip for the side, and i can start working on the back.
i was going to give this quilt to my sister for her baby, but now i think i'm going to keep it. it's too vibrant and weird, and her boyfriend and his family will hate it. i'm weird enough to them, i'll stick with simple blankets for her baby.
i'm super excited now to finish it and hang up on my wall! it's beautiful. i love the colors, i love how it's all wonky and strange, and the way it reminds me of my pop. i picked the turquoise and red with him in mind. i probably always knew i'd keep it. oops.
