That elevator sure is seeing a number of usage, isn't it?
How many levels has he disabled the cameras on? Most of them, for sure, but even then, there still hasn't been any sign of the kids or that dastardly Wesker anywhere, the latter which was definitely odd in and of itself. There's no way he'd have this lab heavily guarded just for him not to be around anywhere, now would he.
At some point, DB had made his way down to the darkest level he's been yet. No, literally, all he could see ahead after the elevator door opened was the densest black fog he's ever seen.
At least here, he doesn't need to worry about the cameras at the moment.
"Wow, this sure is trying to give Silent Hill a run for its moolah, huh." Now surely, there ought to be a wall that he could feel and stick close to. After exiting the elevator, one of his arms would stretch out to a side to feel one of the hallway walls, which he'd silently cling to and slide against regardless of the dark. And any other noises that don't belong to the missing kids or Wesker.
It sure was a long hallway, blindly turning the occasional corner or so. Eventually, his hand would unintentionally press against an invisible button(?) of sorts, opening a hidden door that he unintentionally slips in and faceplants soon after. Eventually without the fog, this door could be easily missed if you didn't stop and squint hard enough.
"....I meant to do that." He mentioned to nobody in particular, getting up from the floor as the door he'd just fell into would quickly close behind him. Just where did he end up in? Looks like yet another hallway, but this one's much narrower and more dimly lit. Plus it looked even more like a maze in comparison. Last he checked, this didn't match the layout of any of the previous levels, either.
...Of course! What a classic suspiciously-evil-location trope. How could he have forgotten?
"...Zoinks, Scoob! Looks like somebody forgot to 2-factor the secret passage doorway.~" It was almost pretty quiet, too. He's sure nobody else has been able to find this part yet, and he's hoping that they won't for another while.
If these are where Wesker's been hiding/running through all over the building unnoticed, then sure DB could find him at some point if he continued to sneak along this secret path. Heck, there could be even more hidden doors, for all he knew.
You can run, but you can't hide forever.
