One of the most prolific Danish architects of the 20th century, Ole Hagen, was born June 22, 1913 (d. 1984)...
He built a large number of square, functional, modernist office buildings, swimming pools, cinemas, etc. - mainly in the Copenhagen area. They are virtually generic Danish - practical, but not beautiful. An example is Codanhus from 1961. He also created sturdy blocks of flats along Roskildevej, such as Tevastehus in 1950.
His high profile works also include Falkonér Centret, the iconic hotel and convention center in Frederiksberg - and the Mærsk headquarters, Esplanaden, Copenhagen.
Among his more aesthetically pleasing works are his own summer house at Hald Strand, 1955 - and his Tulip series of silverware for the A. Michelsen sílver smiths...
