2015 Houston Texans Schedule: Is There Any Hope?

You know the NFL is king when the announcement of the schedule is the biggest news in sports.

Even with the NBA and NHL in the midst of their playoffs, the NFL got top billing.

We have known since December the opponents for the Houston Texans. We even knew the eight home and road games, but we had yet to know the when.

That is until Tuesday night when the NFL released the schedule for every team.

The first glance at the schedule and there’s a great chance for the Texans to get out a great start to their season. It’s not unrealistic for fans or the team to think at the least they could start 3-1 before the Week 5 divisional game with the rival Indianapolis Colts. Heck, there’s even a chance for Houston to start 4-0, but we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves.

Granted, a great start doesn’t mean squat, but it sure beats alternative. If the Texans were able to head into the first game against Andrew Luck and the Colts at 3-1 (at the least), if they win that game, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to head into the bye at 6-2.

If Houston goes .500 the last eight games, they would be in the hunt for a wildcard berth. When you look at those games, five-six seem winnable, with two tough ones with the New England Patriots at home and on the road to Indy.

The key for the Texans to make that happen is the offense, and to get more specific, the play of the quarterback.

With J.J. Watt and that defense, Houston is always in games. With the addition of defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, the defense could be even better. If the Texans can get anything out of Jadeveon Clowney in his second season, this defense could be special.

The key is the offense. Who steps up at quarterback? Who leads the unit and doesn’t drag down the great play of the defense? Do the Texans draft a quarterback?

For now, it appears that Ryan Mallett is the guy as organized team activities, minicamp and training camp near. Whether he holds onto it and keeps it remains to be seen.

If Houston can get any semblance of decent quarterback play this season, the schedule could no doubt unfold in a favorable way and the playoffs become a real proposition.

If the Texans don’t get that quarterback play, it’s par for the course.

But this is the beauty of the NFL … in late April, anything can happen.

It’s just more proof football is king.

Getting the Cheapest Texans Season Tickets

So far with their nine games this season, the Houston Texans have gained most games. Intended for 3 straight games since the 7th week, they have been the first in the ranks. The Falcons, which were previously on the top of list, fell to the second spot. In their 10th week of the regular season games, the NFL team from Texas overcome the Chicago Bears, 13 - 6, getting the latter’s spot at the top three. Even though the latest game was hosted in their opponent’s home arena, it wasn’t a hindrance to the Texans football team. They were able to prove they could defeat any team at any time. Even the location wouldn’t matter. One particular amazing event in the match was that they are able to make the Bear’s quarterback, Jay Cutler, leave whenever they grabbed him twice and prompted him a violent whack. Tim Dobbins, the linebacker for the Texans, was the one who caused the damage towards Cutler when he pressured his headgear against him in the second quarter. It was Foster who do a touchdown catch and raced for over a hundred yards. Without him and his performance in the first half, they wouldn’t have experienced any good chance of making it. Matt Schaub, the #8 quarterback, admitted that Foster’s offensive moves were an enormous edge for the team. The Texans are set off to play against Jacksonville Jaguars on 18th November at the EverBank Field in Florida, that was the host during the Super Bowl in 2005. Football tickets will still be available for those who haven’t purchased them yet. Apart from their Jaguars game, the Texans are also scheduled to play against the Detroit Lions at the Ford Field on November 22. For December, you can still find five more games, two of which are going to be held inside their home stadium which has a see-through roof, the Reliant Arena. Fanatics who want to watch their favorite team perform live in action however don’t want to travel to some other states may watch their games against the Indianapolis Colts on December 16 and Minnesota Vikings on December 23, 2012. Exactly what are the Texans buffs likely to be expecting for their team after the season? Since 2010, the Texans’ power ranking has been getting better. From the 21st spot in 2010, they soared to the 10th post a year ago in their 18th week. At the moment they're at the top in their 10th week.
