Devil’s Toenails - Texigryphaea mucronata - Grayson formation, Denton County, Texas. Oyster fossils from the Lower Cretaceous period, 96-97.2 million years old. It’s easy to see how they got their nickname. Note the excellent preservation and gorgeous coloration of the shell material. Pics 4 and 5 show examples of specimens with both valves intact.
