Imagine Loki bringing a little girl to Thor and making him apologize for scaring her to bits with his thunderstorms whenever he’s in a grumpy mood
Hope you're having a good day ^_^ Here's something nice to tickle your brain: When you get this you have to answer with 5 things you like about yourself, publicly. Then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers :)
Thanks for ask (and tag in the post version of this)! Hmm. Let’s see...
1. I can bake and cook. (By which I mean I can follow the rigidly set instructions and precise measurements and it turn out, but I can also wing recipes and have them turn out as well.) That of course doesn’t mean that I haven’t royally messed up anything ever, or forgotten a pan on the stove. I’m just saying I didn’t inherit my grandmother’s ability to turn everything into a brick.
2. I have extremely vivid dreams (some of which get adapted into stories).
3. I like that I’ve gained enough confidence in my writing to more freely share my ramblings.
4. I can’t really hide what I’m feeling. What you see is what you get. Most of the time it makes things much easier. (...Unless I’ve gotten embarrassed about something and turn bright red. Then I would prefer being able to mask things a little better.)
5. I’m good at puzzles. Maybe it’s a bit of a reach, but I genuinely like that I can sit down and spend time figuring out how the pieces work together and then have a lovely end result as a sense of accomplishment. Dunno. Just enjoy putting puzzles together.

Okay....I read it wrong the first time. I change my ask to number 5. A speech from Jack, or JM!Loki, or Adam.
Oh man...and I already had some possible answers for the first one :P
Okay. #5, Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?
If a speech is forthcoming from JM!Loki, odds are very good it’s carefully orchestrated with the intention of getting him out of trouble for something he very much deserves to be in trouble for. Or maybe he’s been called on - by Jack, likely - to say a few words at her parents’ anniversary, in which case he’d stumble around a bit, throw back a few quick glasses of whatever everyone’s having, and proceed to slather Selina and Eve with adjective-laden compliments while very meticulously insulting the everloving shit out of Adam. Because Loki.
Jack, in the same circumstances, would definitely get her father to growling by mentioning how he and Loki are so much alike and they’re her two favorite men in the world and she loves them both, being sure to throw in a quick mention about that time they kissed each other in the alley behind the hotel, then quickly sit down while her two mothers stare in shock (Selina) and awe (Eve) at them.
Adam when called upon to give a speech would break out some Yeats and Poe and deliver some flowery prose that nobody’s really sure if it came from some ancient literary source or if he’s just making it up, and they won’t really care because he’s got that dreamy relaxing voice and cadence that just sort of lulls you into listening with your eyes closed. Which, Eve will tell everyone afterwards, is how he snagged her all those years ago.
What do you think Adam would think of Hozier’s music? I imagine Adam would have stories to share about many of the musicians Hoz admires.
Bold of you to assume Hozier isn’t older than Adam and that his admiration of various artists from the past isn’t simply a cover to hide the fact that he knew and hung out with these people.
That said, I think Adam probably loves the Wasteland Baby album. We all know he’s into the whole apocalypse thing. I imagine NFWMB was written as a gift from Hoz for Adam & Eve’s anniversary.
Any headcanon info you would like to share about one or more of your Department characters? Maybe about Hawk and Greta?
Hawk and Greta had one of those workplace relationships that everyone knows about and just accepts as fact without any nasty assumptions - everybody knew Greta made it to Team One on her own merit and skills and that it had nothing to do with being the Captain’s lover. In fact, she was already in that position before she and Hawk started seeing each other.
Hawk didn’t have any ulterior motives in getting involved with Greta - he genuinely cared for her - but after the second year of their relationship he started pressuring her to consider quitting the Force. He wanted to get married, she didn’t. It put a lot of strain on them as a couple and by the time their fourth year rolled around they were growing apart, spending less time together, and getting along less. In a last ditch attempt to convince her to retire and do the Wife And Mother thing, he put something of an ultimatum on her (basically, quit and marry me or we’re done). Their couple status was somewhat up in the air when the accident happened, and in Greta’s mind, him sending her away to Weemeetwa was their official breakup. Which was why she felt free enough to flirt with Chief from pretty much her first day at work in the department (and why she had no qualms about entering into an immediate Friends-With-Benefits thing with Andy the minute she rolled into town).
That was also her official declaration of independence...though she still doesn’t remember much about it :)

12. What is the fashion like in your wip? Do you have any pictures saved of outfits your characters would wear?
I do! I have entire files of pictures, style boards, the works. When I’m really into a story I go to the thrift shop and find something for the main characters (usually a shirt) and leave it laying around (or wear it myself). Right now my house is full of buffalo plaid and flannel lol Greta’s woefully inadequate more-for-style-than-warmth puffy coat is hanging in the hall closet (it’s actually my own coat) and there are a half dozen flannel lumberjack shirts stacked on my desk in varying colors, each one assigned to a character from TD. Makes them feel real and keeps me thinking about what they’re doing next. Remember the muse photos series I did a year or so ago? The jewelry/personal belongings of each character in each of my fics? I have a treasure chest full of that stuff. Keene’s lost Meridian, Chem!Tom’s wolf head necklace, King’s leather buckled wrist strap, Molly’s dandelion pendant, Anja’s silver ring, Loki’s Tesseract ring (and his leather-bound coordinates pocket notebook), Jack’s tracking bracelet, Holly’s angel wings. So many goodies in there. Pod’s wedding ring (and his wife’s matching ring...no spoilers beyond that)...Andy’s little blanket is on the foot of my bed...I even have a few doodads for future stories, just waiting their turn to get started (the Rockstar’s backstage pass keeps falling out, I guess he wants to be next). Having stuff around me that I’ve designated to a character helps me get into the mood/headspace to write them, I suppose because it makes them feel real if I have to pick their stuff up while I’m cleaning house. So yeah, technically I do keep photos of character styles...except most of it’s real instead of photographic. @texmexdarling
“My brother died locked in a closet when I was six. I sat outside the door, whispering to him, telling him stories about gods and monsters, until I couldn't hear him breathing anymore.” Oh my GOD! Is that why Tom had that Norse Mythology book? The one he lent to Anja when she went to London? Did Emma read it to him when he was locked in the closet?!? 😩
Same exact book, and there’s a story behind how he got it (since he left with nothing and never went back):
Emma had kept it, and when she went to Stonebrooke her things went into storage. Tom took it from there the day he signed the papers to have her housed at the facility. It was his book from the start and she had kept it so that nothing would happen to it, intending to give it back to him one day.
Years later when Tom started taking Anja to visit her, Emma asked if she knew about the book of monsters. Anja recognized what she was talking about and told her that Tom had it. Emma took that to mean her brother had returned to his place among the immortals and was fine now, protected by the monsters he had loved. That was when she finally stopped thinking his ghost was haunting her and the delusion changed to a less frightening one. She believed he could take human form but that he couldn’t speak while he was in that body, and that was why he always tried to keep her from seeing him. She would pretend she didn’t know he was there, because she thought his ability to watch over her was contingent on her never making eye contact with his human disguise and as long as she played along he would be able to continue.
So he stopped having to sneak around so much, and she happily ignored his presence when he brought Anja to visit, and everything was peaceful.
