ELI: i'm going down to the river a bit later. just gonna chill out.

ELI: if you need a breather at any point, i'll be there. no pressure, obviously. but it's nice tonight. and to be honest, my house is uninspiring and a change in scenery is much needed.

ELI: you ever wonder why scenery affects us so much? like, someone travels to a different country, say like, greece. and it can inspire some of the most dedicated, well thought-out pieces of art that anyone could hope to dream up. it's all the formations in rocks. the warm sand. rushing water of the ocean.

ELI: and you have to stop and wonder. the world is so big, and we're so small. it makes you think, you know, we could be anywhere in that world out there. beyond all of that blue sky and hilltops and miles and miles of cities and towns. but somehow, we ended up in this little corner of life, making it our own home.

ELI: and when you take all of that into consideration, you start to look at each passing moment, each terrible thing, and think that at least there's something out there you /haven't/ seen. something bigger you're meant for. and once you realize it, you want to experience it. all the suffering and pain that we've all been through, even right now, it's all temporary.

ELI: but out there? it's always gonna be waiting to be seen, written about, sung about. and nothing, not even a single bad day or a string of bad years is gonna change that.
