Rapunzel’s expression reflected pure concentration as she set to the task at hand. Currently, that task was painting the castle sitting in the center of the park. She had to use all her focus, otherwise she’d run out of time. Now, one might wonder why time was an issue when the castle was there all the time. But right now, the sun just began to peek up from the horizon, and she knew that this beautiful lighting wouldn’t last for long. The sky still retained the dark of night, but the beautiful pink and orange hues that appeared as day rolled in were beginning to stream into the sky. The lighting only looked this beautiful for so long.

She’d managed to get the general sketch done earlier. That could be done at any time. Now only the painting needed to be done, and she furiously dabbed at her paints with the paintbrush in her hand, filling the image with color. Rapunzel began first with the lighter colors, filling in the pinks, blues and golds of the castle, then on to the edge of the horizon where daylight began to burst in. Next she took the deep midnight blue, grey, and everything else to splash the shadows and night sky in their proper places. It was hard work, painting something like this in a limited amount of time, but soon enough it was done.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Rapunzel stepped back. A look of accomplishment instantly lit up her face as she examined the painting. Looking outside her window, the painting represented the view beautifully, and she couldn’t help but feel proud of herself. Clapping her hands together, she let out a small, “Yay!” and did a little excited jump. Finishing a new piece of art always excited her. Once she’d expressed her joy, Rapunzel moved over to her table of paints, beginning to clean up. She’d woken up extremely early for this, but regardless, today was a new day, and she needed to ready herself for it.
