I really wish that the feeling of being paradoxically alone despite being surrounded by people would leave me when I’m at conventions. For all the years I’ve been going to the two yearly local anime cons in my hometown, I frequently feel isolated or alone even when I’m with friends. I can only seem to relax enough to have a good time if I’m completely wasted 24/7. Of course, all the other chaos that’s been going on in my personal life didn’t do much to improve things...but that’s a completely different devil that I don’t wish to get into at present.
