Because he doesn’t have a wire, he keeps glancing at the main building where the jewel is being kept. Yk the fight between Chase/Julia and Carmen happens, and like… he practically sprints over. Like, you can TELL he’s coming bc the entire goddamn building is shaking.
Carmen can feel him approaching, clearly expecting Gray to take them. Idk during the dark!Carmen arc she kinda just treats him like a dog she can sic on her enemies during combat. Though, she wasn’t prepared for the fact that his hands fly through the glass before she’s like ENVELOPED in his grasp aurvhrbrbbhbb
