Continuation of the first meeting!
Meeting the new medic really clarifies some new items to Phaser's manifest.
Each of the Astro Squad giving human OC, Ettie, a little smooch! Because it's cute.
I debated as to whether or not the masked half of the team should have faces underneath. I think the faceplates being their full face was more interesting. Plus! It could be a thing for masked bots in particular to make little sparks for affection! It's cute!
A workplace sketch of Phaser and Ettie, my human OC combining two prompts from @cybertronia-obscura, "repair" and "private".
Phaser got some sort of damage around his spark chamber and, self-conscious, hid it. Ettie, upset that he would hide this sort of thing, scolds (and reassures) him.
Been going through it recently, so here is Phaser of the Astro Squad having a little snuggle with Ettie, my OC.
The Astro Squad, Dreamwave bios
I love their contrasting personalities and the little look at how a couple of them view some of the others. Also that listed weaknesses are due to their personalities. XD
These designs are a bit too toyetic (the circles on some of their torsos is actually where a screw on their toys are), but beggars can't be choosers.
So I drew Barrage and Heave! Now is Phaser and Blast Master of the Astro Squad! With the accompanying human OC, Loretta/Ettie.
Similarly to the other two, Phaser and Blast Master are a two party combiner that turns into a space shuttle! The group are Micromasters and thus "minibots", but these two turn into a space shuttle and should be standard bot size. (I like G1 cartoon bot-to-human proportions, so she comes up to their knees.)
Phaser is the hyper-responsible "mom friend" who has to double-check everything. When group leader Missile Master informed him that they would be bringing a human mechanic into deep space, he threw himself to learning as much as he could about human health to make sure they could keep her alive. Loretta appreciates his efforts though sometimes to tell him to chill out and that she can take of a skinned knee on her own as he often stresses himself out. (He's also been named Fuzer, but I like Phaser better.)
Blast Master, unlike Phaser, rushes in and often makes mistakes because of that. He does it because he's enthusiastic. He's also enthusiastic about their little human friend. While Loretta can be impetuous herself, she does manage to be something of a voice of reason when they're on their own. At the very least, she reminds him that she is smaller than them and, if he doesn't at least look at where he's stepping, squishy which slows him down a little bit.
