Cursed tf2 match of the week:
It was almost 1:30 in the morning, a 4v4 on Nucleus. The enemy team had two hacking Snipers. Looked like aimbots. So I took the only logical route and went Vaccinator Medic and took turns escorting my teammates to the point. We won that match.
At the end of the match, I get an achievement. It was that one where you have to make it to the top of the scoreboard as Medic without dealing any damage. Turns out, not a single one of my teammates got a kill when I wasn't surgically attached to them. I'm pretty proud of this one.
TF2 Match Making
TF2 Match Making needs a major update to crack down on cheaters.
First of all, spectator mode on command needs to be a thing again. That’s the best way to be sure someone is hacking. Some hackers are more subtle than others and the only way to be sure is to see what their aim is. I’ve seen some Snipers use a method where they hide their pointer, but don’t necessarily use aimbot.
Some Snipers don’t use aimbot (the thing where it snaps to the player, making the aimbotter look jittery), but make it so that they don’t need to be perfectly lined up to the player’s head. Quite frankly, I’ve never had an instance where my cross-hair wasn’t precisely aligned with the player’s head in order to make it count. With hackers, I’ve seen that their cross-hair wasn’t even toughing the player’s head, just outside.
Second, players should not be able to have the same username as someone else in the same server. This is another sneaky method that hackers use to avoid getting kicked when they’ve been found out. They’ll take someone else’s name, so when you go to report them (if you’re on the opposite team) you risk reporting someone who’s not actually hacking. I’ve been nearly kicked by my team unfairly because the hacker used my name, confusing people into put a vote on me, not the hacker. If two people happen to have identical usernames, the second person to get in the server should have a marker of some sort placed next to their name automatically so other people can distinguish the two.
And unrelated to hackers, this is just something that bugs me beyond belief. When you are with your friends playing and you finish a match, you are forced to either vote for a map you don’t want, or be forced to disconnect and be sent to the main menu again. This is a pain because you have to round up all your friends again and start your search over. For crying out loud, just let us disconnect after a game and send us back to our queue!
