TF2 characters and until what age do I think they believed in Santa Claus
Right now I can't remember if Santa is a real figure in the TF2 universe. I know there's a Krampus, who's kind of the opposite of Santa, so I guess the existence of one implies the existence of the other, but I'm not going to investigate that right now, and let's just agree that Santa doesn't exist in these hypothetical situations
Scout:
He discovered way to old
I like to think that Ma liked to maintain a good Christmas atmosphere. Probably, as the years went by, the older children helped spread this Santa fantasy to the younger ones, and Scout, being the youngest, was the one who absorbed the illusion of it the most.
Like naughty children, I'm sure more than one of his siblings once said to him, "You know Santa isn't real, right? He's actually Mom." And Scout would just reply, "NO, HE IS REAL." But he remained skeptical until his mother herself told him the truth.
I'd say he discovered it maybe a couple of years before turning 18, but then it would also be funny if he had discovered it when he joined TF2
Spy:
I don't know, but for me Spy is one of those kids who tells others that Santa wasn't real, one mother fucker
Since there's no context about Spy's life before TF2, I can't imagine what kind of family life he had as a child, but I get the feeling he didn't believe in Santa past the age of 8.
Engineer:
He never believed in Santa, not because he was too intelligent for it, his parents never instilled that illusion in him.
His grandfather and father were probably very frank and not very attentive to that sort of thing, but they still let him write a letter with the gifts he wanted to receive, just so that Christmas would have a little bit of fun.
Engie wasn't as smartass about it like Spy. If he ever told another kid that Santa wasn't real, it was by accident.
Heavy:
He probably discovered it the year he was in the gulag. Time passed and miracles no longer happened.
Although his sisters, especially Bronislava, were perhaps able to enjoy the fantasy a little more once they were free
Sniper:
twelve maybe thirteen years old, he was an only child; they let him enjoy the fantasy for a while
He probably found the gifts in the closet and his parents couldn't come up with a coherent excuse. it broke his heart.
Demoman:
"if ye’re wantin’ gifts, ye’ll hae tae work for 'em. Go get yourself a job, ya lazy bum." - Mrs. DeGroot
Pyro:
still believes
Medic:
Eight, nine years old. He probably realized it on his own at some point.
It would have been great to be able to take one of his reindeer and investigate its insides to find the trick to flying, but I suppose it was too fantastical to be real.
Soldier:
He probably discovered it at a considerable age, but his brain damage and memory loss made him relive all of that.
Santa Claus is an honorable AMERICAN man who brings gifts to ALL THE GOOD SOLDIERS OF AMERICA
