Quick question, what's tf2fip?

tf2fandomisproblematic is a silly blog that’s apparently cropped up recently with the intention of calling out anyone they deem as a problematic person. 

As they put it on their own FAQ

this is tf2fip, a blog where we keep an archive of problematic posts and users in the tf2 fandom. problematic things include: transphobia, homophobia, queerphobia in general, racism, ableism, kin hate, pronoun hate, and really anything that we find could be extremely offensive to a group of people.

And while those are all terrible things, they’re going about it by making an ‘avoid list’ of tumblr users on the blog. The fact that catbountry and protowilson are on there should be enough of a tip to how bogus the list is. It’s a blog centered around fostering negativity.

I’ve seen sweet people who aren't even on it getting singled out, though most of what I’ve learned is some scouring the tags to figure out this mess.

It’s especially bad once you realize that the list is, basically, calling hateful anons’ attention to these people. And the anons have been causing issues, from what little I was able to glean from tags and lurking. As I said, I’m late to this party.

I’m not going to name names, but who I assume to be the head admin seems like the sort of person who loves to roll around in the drama they create.

Doesn’t help that they appear to be a hypocrite in those regards, sending hate (whether personally or not) towards anyone who thinks that what they’re trying to do is wrong and declaring their own blind hatred for cis people. I’m not about to get too involved with gender politics or this clusterfuck, but couple that with their blog’s intended message and it is not a pretty picture of a person.

I’ll admit, I’m not the best worded or most intelligent person in this fandom and I’m sure anyone else could have explained it better, but that’s what the blog is.

You tried to make the fandom more accepting, but probably brought more hatred and annoyance into the fandom. But what you don't realize is that you can not change other people 

You can call people out, scream at them, spout your opinions and objections onto them, but you will not change them. They have to change themselves. You can not change them.

You can call them out so they receive hate, you can fight them all you want, but has it done any good? No, it's only resulted in people getting bullied and wanting to die.

So how do you make this shit stop?

Stop trying to change other people. Stop trying to "help" other people when you can't even help yourselves.

People keep and keep attacking other people, GOOD people, in the TF2 fandom for the stupidest reasons.

So here, have a list of absolute no goes for all of you:

Don't attack others because they like/ dislike certain ships.

Don't attack others because they don't share your opinions.

Don't attack others because they draw/ write stuff you don't like.

Don't attack others because they don't tag their stuff like you want it.

Don't attack others because they don't want to be your friends.

Don't attack others because they don't do as you say.

Don't attack others because they use words you find offenssive.

Don't attack others because they get upset when you talk behind their backs.

Don't attack others because they don't share a certain label with you (you know who did that? That's right, the Nazis. You don't want to be a Nazi, do you? And no, being part of any given minority does not give you a free ticket.)

Don't attack others because they don't want to follow the rules you and maybe a few of your friends have set up for this fandom which is much MUCH bigger than you guys.

Don't pretend you are the victim when you clearly attacked first.

This list is obviously incomplete, but if you do ANY of these things, YOU are the asshole. Not the one who you attacked.
