Hello, thank you for your question! :D

All of the characters in the circus troupe (Pierrot, Harlequin, Doctor, Ticket Taker and Jester) are canonically pansexual, which means that gender expression and physical sex has no bearing on their sexual attraction to other people!

Hello Darthsuki, I have a little question about everyone in the circus, that is, when is their specific birthday? I want to celebrate their birthday this year.꒰ *•ɷ•* ꒱thank you ！

While this information is currently on an AMA that hasn’t been published to tumblr yet (but it IS on patreon!), it is on the roster to be cross-posted soon and Neko is comfortable with me giving out this information in advance of that, since a lot of people are very interested in it! :D

Now keep in mind Neko has not released their ages and doesn’t seem keen on doing so, that information seems to be important— but they are ALL adults and are all much older than the average human, that for sure has been confirmed!

Now, as for the birthdays, we have:

Pierrot: May 18th

Harlequin: May 26th

Ticket Taker: June 28th

Jester: September 29th

Doctor: October 30th

What type of asks do you not like getting or get often? (So we can avoid asking said thing next time)

Ahh you know what? I might have to make an FAQ haha, maybe this will help me. So thank you for asking this!! Appreciate it!!!

What WON'T get answered (usually):

1.) Anything to do with MC having a significant other/child. This has been answered a TON and honestly? I find it boring lol. The child part might be interesting, I might even explore MC having a kid with one of the monsters myself, but I don't care regarding questions about it.

2.) MC being a monster/hybrid/having magical abilities. No. Please stop. I've said Sooooo many times I hate this. IF MC must have any abilities, I prefer they be SMALL (think 'That's So Raven's ability to see the future) and even then I'm very meh on it. I'm SURE these ideas CAN work, but they don't interest me.

3.) ANYTHING to do with MC celebrating a specific holiday or BEING of a specific religion. Please stop. Also, how would that change anything? If YOU know or suspect how, then please write your own stories--you would know best.

4.) MC having a specific mental illness, body type, sexual/romantic orientation, what the MC is wearing and how it would 'affect' the monsters, what if MC were bad or an assassin etc. etc.------none of this will change how the monsters love you. Other than getting a cute comfort fic, idk what you want from me? And, like the previous answer, if YOU know how it might change things, then please write it yourself because YOU would know better than I.

5.) Super long messages/headcanons that really aren't a question or amount to a simple question. Please stop. Please just write the story yourself<3 I would prefer that! I also, despite ironically being a wordy writer, see a long message and just delete most of the time.

As of now, these are the ones at the top of my head that I get so much. Gonna keep this post and myb make an official FAQ haha? who knows.

Frequently Asked (TFC) Questions

I figured it would be useful to have something like this to help with the most common questions I typically get, especially since my askbox tends to get a lot of things and I’m atrocious with responding to stuff super quickly!

-> Are you the creator of The Freak Circus? Can I ask you questions about the game and characters?

I am not the creator of The Freak Circus, nor do I have any authority over its story, characters, lore and details. I do not write the answers for any of the AMAs (Ask Me Anything) and cannot answer any questions that inquire for canon information outside of what’s already been stated in official forms (the game, Neko’s direct answers, the AMAs, ect).

However, I am Neko’s friend and have training and experience with social media management, and do what I can to assist and help him when needed, especially since the volume of interaction he gets on tumblr is incredibly large. Myself and some other trusted people are working on creating an official blog for TFC that allows Neko all of his creative freedom for the blog and the game, but also allows others to assist him as needed since this is a lot for one person to handle alone!

So while I can’t answer anything with a canonical answer, I can offer my own perception and ideas if that’s what you’d like!

-> If you’re not the creator, then who are you?

Short answer: A silly little guy on the internet who likes to bring a little happiness and whimsy into the world!

Longer answer: My name is Daniel, though I also go by Darth or Suki. I’m 31 years old and I’ve been part of fandom and fannish projects for almost two decades— I enjoy creating immersive content such as ASMR scripts, reader-insert fanfiction and (as of the last couple months) voice acting content for The Freak Circus!

As of right now I do have ‘official’ voice lines in the TFC game for the Day 2 update, but I do make a lot of other general voice content for the game as well on my YouTube and TikTok accounts!

-> Do you voice ALL the characters?

For my own projects and as of the newest update for The Freak Circus, yes I do! I’m still trying to improve on my skills as a new voice actor however, so I’m constantly improving on them so that the characters are distinct from one another but still faithful to how I envision their voices.

-> Can you voice something for me?

Yes and no— I can take general requests if you understand it might take me a while to do, as this is a new media for me I’m still learning. I don’t offer voice commissions at this time, but I will make announcements if there are any changes— so keep an eye out for that!

-> Could I voice act a character?

When it comes to my own personal or fan projects, I am not currently looking for other voices— the only exception to this is that I will allow for a creator of an OC the option to voice their own characters if I dub a comic they’ve drawn or had drawn for them.

That said, there is nothing stopping you from getting into voice work yourself! I myself did not have much knowledge in the craft outside of the very basics due to previous choir/choral experience, so if you don’t like the way I voice their characters or just want to try it yourself, then give it a shot! :D

-> What do you use for your voice work?

In terms of hardware, I use a fifine-brand adjustable boom microphone for all of my recording!

As for software, I use a combination of Audacity and DaVinci Resolve for the audio/video editing— both of which are free to download and fairly easy to use with some Youtube tutorials if you don’t have any experience with them!

-> When are you going to update/finish X project?

Ah, ‘tis a question I often ask myself! Humor aside, I try my best to be timely with my various voice or writing projects, especially when it’s an idea that I’m really excited or passionate about. There’s just so many awesome ideas and things to be made!

That said, I do also have a full-time job and other personal commitments that take up a lot of my time (I’ll be running two TTRPG campaigns! Sadly not TFC related <XD).

I also unfortunately deal with chronic pain that sometimes make it difficult to work on things (Winter especially is a hard season for me)— so while it might take me a while to get things done, I’m always working on something or another! The best way to support those projects is to share them with other people or simply give me feedback; I love and adore comments, and people simply telling me their thoughts and feelings on something I’ve made is often a great motivator. Support your artists and creators!

Hi Darthsuki! I was just wondering if you happen to know what Neko's take is on people selling prints and stuff of tfc fanart they made? I was thinking about selling things but wanted to be sure Neko is okay with it! (Sorry for asking you, I didn't want to bother Neko on their well deserved break)

You may have gotten this answer elsewhere, so apologies if I'm repeating things! I'm going to grab from an answer me and Neko both agreed on:

Items or commissions considered unique or one-of-a-kind (such as handmade plushies, pins, charms, physical art, YCH (Your Character Here) and similar items) are allowed for sale. Commercial items, such as mass-produced figures, plushies and similar are not allowed nor authorized at this time.

So if you're using a service like etsy or using a service like redbubble for selling prints of your art on canvas, stickers or such, then that's okay!

This is to try and make a fair balance between commercial and non-commercial products, because I have seen an unfortunate number of commercial or knock-off products for the game and its characters-- Neko does not profit or has any creative input on ANY of those items.

i have a question, i keep seeing some people call ticket taker, as bil why is that?

im just curios about it ^^

A fun and amusing curiosity I’m happy to answer!

He’s called Bil because in the original Brazilian Portuguese script of the game, Ticket Taker is actually called Bilheteiro! Directly translated it means ‘ticket clerk (or) agent’, so that’s why in english he’s called Ticket Taker since that’s an accurate but better-sounding translation.

But that’s also why you see some fans (including myself and Neko) sometimes call him Bil! :D

this might be a weird question but can the circus members ONLY eat humans or can they eat normal food too?

is it like some vampire-ish logic where they can only eat humans , does human food make them sick (like animals) , or can they eat human food but they can't get as much out of it as humans can , nutrition wise?

i really wanted to write some headcanons of how the circus members would react to the MC being a good cook/baker and sometimes bringing their treats to the circus as a gift but i want to know if .... you know , they can actually eat it

They can eat normal, non-human-based food!

It just doesn’t provide the same nutrition that human flesh does, so a monster cannot typically subsist on a monster-flavored vegan diet, if that makes sense? Neko has said some can attempt and try, but that would leave them extremely malnourished and very very ill.

So don’t worry, they absolutely would be able to eat and enjoy anything the MC makes if they are a cook or baker <3

Es la primera vez que comento en estás páginas 😅, pero es tanto así que ame the freak circus que tengo tantas dudas y necesito alimentarmeeee 😭. Conocer esa novela visual es lo mejor JSJSJ. Tenía una duda que no sé si lo respondas como tipo headcanons o se asemeje al canon. En una parte de la novela se menciona que el circo no permite menores de edad (creo que fue cuendo Pierrot fue a visitarnos al café y está la mujer grosera) o sea no devoran menores? Por piedad o simplemente no les importa?

You are correct that they don’t allow human minors into the circus!

As for whether that is out of kindness, pity or something else altogether is yet to be detailed, though we have gotten a general sense from Jester (and Neko by extension on his blog and in some of the AMAs) that kids tend to be a bit too adventurous for their own good.

They could end up in places and tents they’re not meant to be! :D
