↳Regium's Citizens
Hunchback Crew's Character Tropes.
"All right, we'll let you off, but with a warning. You do that again, you're looking at community service."
"Yes, sir," Colton murmured, and the man dismissed him, so he stood, rubbing his temples as he tried to stay steady on his feet. The only reason he'd got out of a charge for drinking in the middle of the day was that he was surprisingly good at acting sober when the occasion necessitated it. Honestly, he'd only been drinking because of the panic attack he'd had earlier. He felt like shit, he thought it might help.
Intending to get out and get out quick, he started for the door, but passed somebody on the way, somebody he recognised. "Hey, do I know you?" he said, the only reason he was speaking out of turn because his judgement was inhibited.
☆ LAW AND ORDER ☆ Regium, California
Give me the Facts, and I will give you the Law.
Diane had not been to church in a few weeks, having been busy with work and the like. But she was back now, and glad. She felt at home here - these were her people. And whilst she did not agree with every sentiment that the Roman Catholic church put forward, she believed in more than enough to warrant coming to church.
The service had just ended, and people were beginning to mill about. As was often the case, at the back of the hall, some drinks and biscuits had been set up at the back, for those who wished to stick around. Busy as she usually was, Diane rarely stuck around, but today she had little to do, and so found herself at the back of the room with a few others, and a polystyrene cup filled with bad tea in her hands. The biscuits were slightly more palatable, though, and she offered the plate to the man on her right. "Biscuit?" she said with a small smile.
Frosting on the Cake // Claude and Elena
Two hundred people and fifty-three people. Elena could hardly believe the number when Meredith informed her of the final count for the charity dinner. The food pantry and homeless shelter would be able to provide hot meals for almost everyone who came through their doors. Children with fully bellies awakening to gifts under trees from a jolly man who assures them that being good reaps rewards. Humming a Christmas song, the woman entered the bakery excited to increase her order for the dinner. Everything went above expectations. She was going to help two of her favorite causes. She was going to increase the Christmas spirit. She was going to have an enjoyable evening. She was going to impress Lupin and get to see the look on his face when he had to offer her a job.
The petite brunette held the door open for the small family in front of her, smiling at the little girl who looked around the shop as if it were a candy palace. Stepping in after them, Elena removed her gloves paying no attention to the other patrons as she admired the rows of colorful cookies and elaborately decorated cakes. Although her friend was a far better baker, Elena couldn’t help but admire the craftsmanship in all the delicacies. Hours of work reduced to minutes of enjoyment as those craving a sweet devoured them morsel by morsel. The line for such sweets was longer than it had been last week no doubt due to all the upcoming holiday parties. While Regium had dozens of bakeries, after tasting treats from each, Elena concluded that this was the best in the city. A conclusion that several other people must have made. Waving at the woman taking orders from her tiny desk in the corner, Elena indicated that she would be heading to the less crowded area until the woman finished her phone call. Smiling the white haired woman mouthed the word cookie at her. The brunette knew when to take a recommendation, especially one form the chef.
The glass case holding all the individually sized treats was far larger than that meant for group and special occasions. This side of the shop contained far fewer patrons quickly walking in and out of the area with their treats in hand or packed away in fancy bags. Elena crouched down to stare at the bottom shelf trying to decide which cookie to get. Although the woman was an adult, she knew that eating all of the sweets she wanted was still a horrible idea. Turning to the side, she saw the little girl from earlier with an elder man lurking near. Elena assumed that he must be her father and paid no mind to the man talking instead to the girl. “Aren’t they all lovely? I don’t know which to pick. The one with the powdered sugar looks like a fresh snowball while the one with the blue icing is positively glittering. It’s like something the Snow Queen made. And the red and green ones are so pretty with the tiny red sprinkles as holly berries. Which one are you going to get?”
