It is apparently horse chestnut season already, so I'm trying to find some decent ones to see if they will keep until Peri arrives. I am strangely pleased by their odd, freshly-waxed texture, and I am determined to share it with Peri because I am clearly five years old. All I have found so far are shrively undersized ones; I think those greedy squirrels are snagging all the proper ones. These are from my itty bitty local nature preserve. Examples of why you will not find me a speedy companion during a walk/hike :)

Also, I have 10/25-11/2 off for certain, but I MAY also be able to get 10/24 (the day after kidnapping and I will have gotten ZERO sleep) OR 11/3 (more time with Mich) off. A new coworker has offered to cover, though I don’t know if I’ll have enough PTO hours. Of course, I still have The Oldering Weekend off. The only specific non-work time obligations are if we want to do the catacombs or masquerade for Halloween, and that fall color may fade from peak quickly, so early autumny drive opportunities should not be passed up.
Afterthought: I think I remember work threatening to do some mandatory everybody-in-the-network training on 11/2 for an afternoon? Will have to confirm.
