The various iterations of this game are actually so varied it's ASTONISHING. Do you know how much versions of this story exists?
2018-2019: Voltron Comic
Yes. You read that correctly... it was a Voltron Comic. Wasn't happy with the adam plotline at the time, so I gave Shiro a new lover to fall in love with. He was a surgeon who worked at the Garrison and also taught classes on first aid. I can't remember what I had planned for the ending, but his signature jacket from is corruption era came from this design.
2020: Novel
Probably the briefest stage of development. Forget this ever happened. Hidden side antagonist placed beside original characters for a series where something random happens every hour in the world.
2020-2024: Animated Original Series
OC recycled with new characters and occupations. Now an animated series about a mayor who inevitably corrupts under the pressure of an ever changing climate dystopia. Not a protagonist anymore, but antagonist. By allying himself with the greater censorship of the world (and its truths) in the name of justice. Found out one of his former students ended up becoming a criminal and refugee by doing the exact things he taught her not to do or even try, and is also hunting her down too.
2024: Visual Novel
A game in which Ivan is bestowed ten different lives he could live out based upon the player's choices, with each serving a moral lesson and being drastically different from the rest. The last ending only obtained when you've obtained the rest, tying all said lessons and themes together.
2024-2025: Visual Novel
The "romance" route from said aformentioned game. Shortened to that route alone, because it was too much to tackle all at once at the time. Became a game that explores amatonormative concepts and ideas with a little bit of spice added in about change and dealing with that. Honestly, the plot is really shaky, but it's interesting to flip through the script. (Yes, that's Ivan getting chased by the cops.)
2025-Present: Visual Novel
An experimental, non-linear, game mechanic heavy, metafictional game that explores the consequences of a frictionless society. One that elevates the impassioned as pathologized or criminal on a literal, assumed, or figurative level. All explored through Ivan's eyes through multiple accounts and interactions + conflicts.
