Just posting some of my 3am thoughts on Shockwave for Transformers: Harmonic— things may not make 100% sense I am TIRED lol.

Ideas and discussion are welcome. I love talking about this, and I will be thrilled to yap about it :)

While I love emotionless Shockwave, I don't really want to go down that route with him in TFH. He struggles to feel and truly understand emotion, often defaulting to logic— but he isn't cold and unfeeling.

I think it would be more terrifying if he acted quite cheerful and "warm," committing his atrocities because, to him, it's an act of benevolence. He thinks what he's doing is a good thing.

A lot of his research would be improving cybertronians to "perfection," so he was often experimenting on people to make this happen. (I.e. he wants to ensure that people can't get sick, hurt, age, die— no unnecessary misery for anyone in any form)

Shockwave thinks his work is logical because, to him, it's obvious that the people of Cybertron should improve and become better. To evolve is how nature works— therefore, people should evolve to be better.

The decepticons gave Shockwave the resources and support to do his work, regardless of how unethical it may be— and basically buying Shockwave's loyalty via letting him do his thing unhindered.

It doesn't stop him from defecting when Soundwave leaves, though, out of concern for his and his Amica's safety.

So he's kind of a mix of G1, TFA, FOC, and Skybound Shockwave? I'm not sure.
