At The Father's House, a new series has begun entitled NuYou where we are encouraged to leave healthier, happier lives led by our faith. What this means is that we can depend on God to enrich our lives, just as a branch to a tree. When we try to control every aspect of our lives, when we break off from our tree, our source, things begin to spin out of control and eventually something in us can die. When I am faithful, I'm free of daily burdens and can be happier. When I am faithful, I can choose better because I'm happy rather than gaining high cholesterol or heart problems because I'm too depressed or lazy to take care of my health.

I've been battling with my weight since about 2007, coincidentally, when I met my husband :). I probably went from about 108 to, sadly, around 120-130lbs. Some of you might be scoffing at me already that 120lb is nothing but may I remind you I am only about 5'2" and 10lbs can really transform me into a state of bleh, if you will. Since having Addison 2 1/2 years ago though, 130lbs sounds heavenly. When I look at all my clothes that I love and haven't squeezed into in 5 years, 130lbs is not so bad. I'd say the first 30 weeks of my pregnancy, I did pretty well in the weight department and I was happy with my appearance, preggo and all. Many of you may remember I went all the way to 41 1/2 weeks (WHAT!) and it was NOT pretty! I think, okay, okay .. I KNOW I peeked at 199lbs because I remember thinking, "Oh God, don't let me get to 200lbs at my height, it's not normal, please no!" After Addison was born I began losing right away and I was, again, pretty happy with how things were going especially considering I was a couch potato for about 6 months due to surgeries, etc. Since then I've kind of stuck around 171-173lbs until about a month ago. I began losing with all the work on the new house and getting outdoors more and I worked my butt right down to 162lbs without even doing any intentional workouts. As far as eating habits, I had maintained eating healthier options but not any big food changes. Well, we kind of overindulged in eating out the past 3 days and I managed to gain 4lbs! 166lb! Enough's, enough and with a few successful 3 day trials at juicing I am going to take things to the next level and go a little longer, lose a little more and maintain a healthier lifestyle!
2 years in, 20lbs heavier!
41 1/2 weeks - get outta here!
You've seen some of my juice pictures before and you can check out Join the Reboot to see the movie trailer for Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and the great recipes and plans they have on the site.
1 cucumber, 1 green bell pepper, 2 handfuls of grapes, broccoli, spinach, corn = YUM
Hopefully, blogging to the world about all of this will give me an extra incentive to NOT FAIL!
