Being Christian is Sketchy????
So today I had an interesting conversation with my classmate who's an atheist. (Sometimes those type of conversations don't go the best but this one was good.) It was really cool to be able to defend my faith and to really get my classmate thinking.
Anyways I wanted to share a little bit of the convo.
The biggest comment he said that really bothered me was his opinion on eternal life. Because I'm so curious I asked, what happens when we die? I really don't know why I was so shocked when he simply answered, we just disappear like poof.
But that actually got me so sad. I never really gave it a lot of thought that people actually believe this is it. Theres no eternal bliss. This life spans all we got.
This kids a super genius so of course he kept throwing the word logic around. But believing in no heaven honestly makes no logical sense. If we just disappear after this whats the purpose of this life?
Of course that raises the olivious question "then why are we here?"
So now that ive got you thinking:) I want to just add one other comment he made I thought would be worth sharing:
He told me "The whole religion thing seems kinda sketchy" (huh??) In which I couldn't help but respond "You know what seems sketchier?.. Disappearing in a poof!":)
Now one last thing. When you get this amazing opportunity to converse about your faith with a nonbeliever take it!! But some things to keep in mind: Know your faith well because they'll challenge you, listen to the other persons view(How else will you know what to defend?) and lastly don't be frustrated. (this is hardest one)
Well have an awesome rest of your week,
"And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." - Matthew 16:15
