It started out rather well, or so Breakdown thought.
He'd given his speech at the previous rally, and how the crowds had cheered him on. There had been cries of yes and preach it, and even, if he was listening correctly, a cry or two of I love you Breakdown! It had done wonders to boost the blue bruiser's ego.
And there had been camera crews present, as well, as there were today. His message hadn't been limited to the narrow crowd present at the event, it had spread throughout all of Cybertron, and that filled him with a strange sense of hope - word was getting out, and the movement was growing.
The only thing he hadn't been counting on, however, was the fact that the Autobot High Council had also been watching, and hadn't been at all impressed with his finishing act - destroying both insignias while looking directly into the camera. As a result, they'd planted a few... agitators... in today's crowd.
The first swing came from a femme roughly the size of Ultra Magnus, paint scheme helm-to-pede black, with a touch of white here and there - a cop if Breakdown ever saw one. All three of the camera crews, which had been divided to cover different areas of this rally, swung around instantly to capture the chaos unfolding on the ground in front of the main podium as two more large mechs joined the fray - both of them on the aggressor's side.
Breakdown threw no punches, nor did he defend himself in any way that could be misconstrued as aggressive, hoping that his attackers would realize the bad publicity they were getting from attacking someone that refused to fight back, but he had no such luck. The beating continued for approximately five more minutes before Breakdown lost consciousness, his entire frame going limp as the Enforcers cuffed his unconscious body around his wrists and ankles. Then, as perhaps the ultimate show of the disgust and contempt held for such rebels by the High Council, they dragged him out of the crowd by the shackles placed around his ankles, a ring of Enforcers blocking the enraged crowd from intervening.
There could be no mistaking it: this had been planned.
