Hello everybody, and welcome to the Top Gun Big Bang!
We are so excited to be bringing this fest to Top Gun, and hope you guys will come along for the ride.
A big bang fest is an almost two decade old tradition throughout fandom, with its aim to bring writers, betas and artists together to collaborate to tell one story in multiple formats.
If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a big bang, here’s a brief description! These fests usually run for several months, typically with the goal to write a novel length works. An author will write a fic, in our case with a minimum word count of 20k, that will be fully beta-d, and then an anonymous summary will be provided to the artists who sign up. The artist will choose a summary that speaks to them, and they will create a piece (or multiple) of fanart as a companion piece to the fic.
This fest is limited to fics centred around Bradley Bradshaw/Jake Seresin, or, Pete Mitchell/Tom Kazansky. Due to the nature of a big bang, we are unable to open this up to any other ships as the main pairing, but there is no limitations on background/side pairings, so long as the main relationship is between one of the two above ships.
Our hope for this big bang is to not only encourage authors, betas and artists to try something new, but to help the community as a whole to connect with each other!
Sign ups will start from the 1st of February! A discord server will be open to all participants who wish to join. The discord will be used for information pertaining to the fest, as well as events to help motivate and provide support to everyone who has chosen to join us.
