Ohhh what is your opinion on TGCF LA?? I've heard many things are still on test?? That's why the outfits, for example, are sorta cheap and ugly. What did you think of the cast as well? I'm very curious to your opinion!

let’s just say i really hope that the outfits/looks are just a publicity test because cosplay outfits are much better (look at those layers and textures!) and fengqing only got black drapes 😔

as for casting 🤕 lmao out of everyone in china, y’all just had to choose a r1se member with little to no experience (i’ve seen him as a jealous ex in xu kai’s drama… no) + a guy with no hua cheng energy (don’t yell at me this is my opinion, i just hope he has the Range to play the finest man ever known to existence) to play hualian 😔 i’m not saying they’re bad (for all i know, the live action can WOW me like SHL did) but OUT OF EVERYONE IN CHINA, you specifically choose these 2 very young people to play hualian 😭 how can xie lian be gege when he’s zhai xiaowen and literally 22 // i like wind master’s casting, but LOL he xuan no. i feel like they’re too young? i don’t understand why they can’t hire more seasoned actors like hyx did and actors who kinda suited the age range and aesthetic more! there are so many novel fans on weibo (i’m not on twitter) and i can tell you that most people don’t even want to associate 吉星高照 with tgcf, like maybe the plot might be good enough to pull it off or MAYBE the actors have superb acting skills + hair & makeup changes? but as of now, i’m very iffy about it

I'm sorta looking forward to the TGCF live action, but I think they still have a long way to go, I'm waiting for "official news" (have they done any announcements??? 🤔) to drop, Yknow? They can't be so cheap with such a big project like this one, it would be a gigantic shot on the foot. TGCF has a huge fanbase, and they literally have high quality art (I mean, the manhua? STARember??? Cmon) to base themselves off. I actually have high hopes for it since the director and crew are basically the same as CQL. Not that they will try to replicate CQLs success because there's no way, but I mean?? Wasn't The Untamed also very frowned upon when it started out? I wasn't in the fandom, but I've heard people were very against WYB as LWJ because he was young and inexperienced and "wouldn't be good enough", and here we are.

Well. Overall, I truly hope things get better 🤗 I agree with you on some things, some other I have no idea about so I think I don't agree much, but I've got my fingers crossed that it can still surprise us all and be good. It's still very early. We'll see! Thank you for being so nice and honest, though. I appreciate it a lot ❣️

^^ that's a good point, the director + crew did a very good job on cql even tho they received backlash in the beginning with casting and script choices; but at the same time, like you said, i don't want to base 吉星高照's success off cql, so in the end? i just 🤞 and hope it works out somehow! haha, thanks for being so open minded & it's really nice to hear other peoples' opinions as well 💘 but my overall first impression isn't as great because my hopes were kinda high for tgcf, and this isn't the first time for a BL novel drama adaptation. i feel like the crew has MANY things to base tgcf off of ^ manhua, donghua, bomb af cosplay, past experience with cql, etc. so maybe as time passes and official weibo stuff gets released, it'll end up being pretty nice

I haven't felt it yet with him, I still can't see him as Dianxia, idk how to explain it. I do like the choice for Hua Cheng's actor, but I have high expectations for him since Hua Cheng is literally???? Best fucking ever, our Ghost King 👻👑

Yeah, I don't want them to base Eternal Faith on CQLs success. Again, there's no way to replicate it, neither should they try. This isn't their first rodeo, which is why I am mostly giving them the benefit of the doubt and still trying to keep my hopes up that it can be really good in the end and they won't be cheap (please don't be cheap!!)

I don't think they would risk it all for nothing, tbh. This being another MXTX adaption, they must be aware that all the eyes on them are really invested and hoping for manhua/donghua (even cosplay, as you mentioned) level of good, as references. They're sure starting it from scratch, but it isn't out of nothing.

I'm trying not to judge the cast as of yet, before seeing them in action as their roles, but I am antsy about the costumes (which, again, many people are saying they're just for testing out the locations and stuff, no official recordings, so they might still change).

Ok. Confession time. After watching MDZS the style and aesthetic of it inspired me so much, I made a DnD character based on it. He's a monk/cleric who casts spells via music and hunts undead, and worships Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. ....Being a ghost, does Hua Cheng even condone hunting undead? 0.o

Hmm I think Hua Cheng tries not to concern himself with what others do. If they arent posing a threat or being mean to Xie Lian.... He doesnt *really* care what they do. I think he understands quite well that everyone has their own circumstances that have led them to where they are and that it's up to the individual to decide what is right and wrong for them. He may have more pity or respect for other ghosts and demons having experience being one himself, but I dont think he would make much of a fuss about demons being hunted.

He may internally have questions but if it doesn't directly involve dianxia he probably wont get involved lol
