I headcanon that the “repaired fan” that He Xuan gives Shi Qingxuan at the end of the novel is actually his ashes bcs there is no more revenge left and the only person he actually cares about even after (and through) everything is his one and only friend. And i cry thinking about this tbh.

Wait wait wait imagine if whatever state the ashes were in affected the state that the ghost/demon are in so like... the ashes are safe and normal and the ghost is fine, but if they get caught in a fire, the ghost burns. SQX is on his way to go see HX but gets caught in a storm and the fan gets all wet and soggy and when he finally reaches HX, the poor demon answers the door SOAKED. SQX asks "Bro what happened"

Personally I think hua Cheng’s voice actor for the anime did an amazing job voicing both hua Cheng and San Lang. They have to voice the same character but one as an adult and the other as a teenager. I guess some of the other fans think that the voice doesn’t sound like the voice that they imagine in their heads. Either way, I’m excited to watch the anime when it comes out.
Yes!!! I definitely think he did an amazing job. For those who are unaware, the VA who voiced Hua Cheng at the end of the donghua trailer is the same VA who voiced San Lang in the new PV (I didnt realize this at first cause the voices are so different)

I certainly would have liked to see much more of HX (I think hes a great character), but the novel is so long as it is.
