Hua Cheng is Actually a God.

Just because he rejected heaven, doesn’t mean he rejected godhood. What he rejected was Jun Wu’s reign. And since he never gave that psycho a chance to shackle him, he couldn’t be considered anything less than a god. He passed the heavenly tribulation.

His first few believers were the people he sacrificed his eyeball for. Then, his first order of business was to slap 33 gods out of their posts and nab their followers. 2 birds, one stone.. or.. 33 birds?

The reason Jun Wu left him alone was probs not only because of his power (this dude was a Supreme Ghost King and an actual fricken God) but because Hua Cheng knew heaven was a scam. Hua Cheng was walking proof that Jun Wu was a fraud. Proof that Jun Wu’s “laws” weren’t divine laws.

What god was he? God of Luck, probably. Seems legit that the cosmic order would see fit to add a God of Luck since a God of Misfortune suddenly manifested due to belief

Speculative: You have to worship the God of Luck and the God of Misfortune together since if you only pray to the god of luck he won’t listen, and if you only pray to the god of misfortune.. well.. results may vary.

Thinking of Mu Qing in Xianle being frustrated and angry that Feng Xin blindly accepts their duty to Xie Lian, and Feng Xin being frustrated and angry that Mu Qing doesn't.

Versus Mu Qing centuries later planning to sacrifice his life for Xie Lian on the Heaven Crossing Bridge, and Feng Xin preventing him from doing so, getting angry that he even thought of doing it!

Hualian's red thread is a great symbol of Hua Cheng's love. It's reminiscent of the red thread of fate, but Hualian weren't exactly fated--actually quite the opposite, they were kept apart. By putting the red thread himself, Hua Cheng forces fate to never separate them again. It symbolizes all the hard work he's put in to search for and find Xie Lian. He literally creates his own fate, their own fate, with pure will, just like he doesn't pass away out of pure will. It's his love and immeasurable strength and will power.

I had a thought. You know how Nan Feng has butterfly's on his uniform, that's based on his actual uniform from his xianle days???

What if and stay with me.

When Feng xin broke his arm for his highness (and kinda for Hua cheng because you know saving him from a bulky under orders blah blah) what if Hua cheng couldn't really focus and in his mind butterfly's mean protection because Feng xin had butterfly buttons on his uniform and thats the only thing he really manged to look at.

Would this ever been even lose to cannon? No. Do we know why Hua cheng uses butterfly also no so I'm going to sit right here in my happy little headcannon hole.

I'm not crazy!! Also they both hv ducking red! It's something I noticed when drawing but both those be red just different shades!

Woke up at like 1 pm so here's some HuaLian thoughts.

Just thinking about Xie Lian going through life finding it so easy resist the pleasures of the flesh. It's so easy for him that his only concern was turning people away in the easiest way he could without causing trouble.

Oooooh and then Hua Cheng comes along. The dormant embers of desire and attraction suddenly stoked. It's so gradual yet sudden. So warm yet scalding hot that he could only describe anything else before as a frigid tundra he didn't know he was weathering.

And every tender glance, every reverant word spoken by Hua Cheng only further agitates the flame. Brighter, hotter, and he doesn't know what to do with himself because the last thing he'd ever dream of doing is stopping it.

I know TGCF has a whole thing about people around Xie Lian suffering but what I genuinely love about that is how ironic that is.

The people XL picked and trained all turned out to be HEAVEN FRICKING OFFICIALS, Lan Qianqu ascended, Mu Qing ascended and so did fend xin. HUA CHENG, whom XL knew from the very first fight as a teen would be unstoppable with a saber fucking ASCENDED and then became a calamity.

XL is not unlucky, he's amazing at reading people with potential and he hypes them up and guides them to what will suit them. (he also instructed Mu Qing early on, don't forget, who was one of the very few people on par with XL, when he was a prince, when it came to swordfighting)

Now I'm not saying these people weren't destined or it wasn't their own fate and hardwork. what I'm saying is that XL is probably the luckiest link they had in their lives who made the person they could become otherwise how could Lan Qianqu, whos very young and kinda impulsive, be ascended and in control of a whole ass region?

Would Mu Qing find his cultivation as easily and conveniently as he could with XL's help? Would HC be motivated or inclined towards improving his skills? Would Feng Xin? Hell the reason they could cultivate that high in the first place (Fx and Mq) is BECAUSE XL made them his officers!

Also let's not forget XL's presence is the reason the whole blackwater arc did not end in like 5 seconds cause who the hell would figure that shit out. (hc wouldn't give a shit without xl and pei Ming is too horny too use his brain around shi wifi going through his heavenly trial thingy)
