ANOTHER DREAMXD PIECE LETS GOO
(Check out my last post for context about my AU if you're interested:3)
"Cardan stands over me. His jacket is thrown on a nearby chair, the velvet soaked through with some dark substance. His white sleeves are pulled up, and he's washing my hands with a wet cloth. Getting the blood off of them"- The Queen of Nothing (Ch. 17)
Can I talk about this scene for a moment, because it really shows how much Cardan loves Jude. Here is a man who had been raised as a spoiled, neglected, cruel prince, caring for a mortal girl. He is helping her when she is in pain, and he is by her side even though he is High King of the Fae, and she is an (though technically not anymore) exiled mortal. He could have easily called for a servant to clean her, he could have given her her own room, he could have left her side, left her to die on the table. But no, here he is, lowering him self to her side, abandoning all the egotistical ways of thinking he was taught, and doing such a simple action, however unfitting of a king, because he doesn't trust anyone else with her to do it right.

More TGON content coming soon~
Does Drista exist in the TGON au?
YES! Drista is very much canon to The Graveyad Of None!
LORE:
Drista originally was a normal hybrid but soon developed powers, they weren't strong but still higher than average. She could turn into a specific form (shown below) and trick people into doing her bidding, her powers mostly consist of manipulation.
Her main role was cheering up lost souls in the "evergarden." (I shall make a post about this later! But in short its an in-between of Limbo and Death. A more peaceful kind.) Until rescue comes to guide them.
Drista is Dreams and Foolish's younger sister! But holds a strong resemblance towards Dream especially. She isn't too important to the lore, but does have her moments!
PS: she was a pain in the ass to design :"D
This is her "higher" form. She does not look like this normally, but just when using her powers!
Folk of the Air Theory
So you know in that scene when Jude is pretending to be Taryn in the Queen of Nothing, and she walks in a room and notices a pillow smeared with gold? Well, lets think real hard right now about what fae, possibly and probably friends with Locke, wears gold on his cheeks 24/7? Hmm, I don't know, could it be her husband Cardan, a fae who checks off all those boxes? But wait, if it really was Cardan, the High King of Elfhame, attend a party of Locke's, even if they were close friends would he deign to travel out of the palace just for some lowly party? What he wasn't there for the party or its host, but instead for the host's wife? A woman who looked almost exactly like his wife, and for a moment, in a drunken haze he could just pretend....
wait-
Being a Harper involved many things. It involved delving into dungeons, rooting out evil plots, crossing between worlds, and toppling tyrants. But inevitably, it boiled down to this: the Harpers spent all day, every day shovelling shit somebody else left there. Right now they were rebuilding the city. Jaheira didn't look up from her intake forms when the door to her office knocked. "Come in." "Messages for you, ma'am." said one of her Harpers, respectfully closing the door behind her. "Report away, Harper Eve." Jaheira kept writing. You could tell it was Harper Eve without looking because the voice came from lower down, and Harper Eve was a three-foot halfling woman who wasn't much taller than Jaheira's desk. "The updates from the field agents have come in," said Harper Eve. "The Guild are still refusing to allow the survey crew into the south tunnels or any of the sewers. Nine-Fingers Keene is demanding we stand down." Jaheira sighed. "She's testing me. Put the letter in the fire, she'll come and try to threaten me if she truly means it. What else?" "Another caravan of refugees arrived in Moonhaven this morning, but the drivers can't get back to the Gate road because of Blights. Isobel sent a writ asking for help guarding the next one." "Damn. I'll send Harper Poppy and Harper Sunflower there when they get back from the Iron Throne." "They're already back. They brought this construction bill from the Gondians, but Grand Duke Ravengard is due to send someone round later..." "Good thinking. Leave it to him. We're nearly over-budget as it is." "Actually, there's a note from the treasurer as well. It's about the budget." Jaheira sighed deeply to herself. Keeping the city functional and undestroyed was such a terrible job. If her kids weren't Baldurian, she'd be tempted to let the place sink back into the mud.
