The Gold of Your Heart Masterpost

Deceit never thought he'd get caught napping in the Main Sides commons. Luckily, he was disguised as a snake at the time. Unluckily, the one Side who would never let him go picked him up. Admittedly, there are worse things in the world than being stuck as Roman's pet; it gives him a chance to learn more about the other Side, to find something he can take advantage of. Deceit finds himself distracted by the surprising mystery that Roman presents. 

When another part of Thomas hidden away rises in power, Deceit takes a risk and asks for Roman's help. So he can find blackmail, clearly, and not because he's grown fond of the other Side or anything. That alone, they could have handled. But the secrets Roman keeps, their own family, and Deceit's refusal to acknowledge anything between the two of them complicate matters. Thomas himself is at risk, and Deceit once knew that he'd do anything for his center. Anything it seems, except risk losing Roman.

While I accept that there were sweater+scarf combos, I must politely say they were the wrong combos!

This is my cosplay for the incredible epic fic by @thegoldofyourheart that I still think about regularly despite reading it months ago.

Sometimes I'll actually be struck by a memory from the fic and my brain just can't accept that so many different things happened in one story and tries to tell me it was from something else. But it wasn't, and it did. And I'm left staring into space, reliving it all over again.

I finished The Gold of Your Heart this morning and I’m... it was so good! Thank you for tagging me because I knew I would forget about it and I really needed this!!! So I just thought I’d drop in to say that I loved how organic all the relationships felt, and am so in love with how all of them seemed really in character? Like, I just love it so much and wish I had people to gush over it with. ∞/10 v good fic

Binged it. Fantastic, I love it, perfect Logince, perfect mindscape worldbuilding, forever immortalized as god tier Roceit, best antag!Patton to date, hope you'll screen for typos once you have the time tho it was confusing sometimes, I genuinely don't think I ever seriously read through anything longer than 100k but you've ruined me, I have at most 4.5 hours of sleep in my schedule and no regrets,

Aaaaaaa thank you so much!! I’m so glad that you enjoyed it! I’m super proud of how it turned out and I’m glad that I converted one more fellow to the joys of long fic ;) I think I forgot to put the total word count on the masterpost, thinking about it, but it came out to be over 200k words long so congrats! :D you read twice the amount that you ever thought you would!

(Also I mentioned the typos to everyone who helped worked on the fic for my own amusement, and the collective screaming made my day :D Believe us, we know that there are more typos in there. But we read that thing four times over, including when we were trying to post it on tumblr and there were always more. I think it will haunt us all forever. 200k words is just a lot to cover in the time we did XD I’m proud that its readable at all)

loving the story so far, could i ask which snake-based anthonys roman was referring to? i got crowley from good omens, but not the other one

Ok, I’m gonna out myself here XD You got the first and main one that I was thinking about in Anthony J Crowley from Good Omens. The second,,,, is also Anthony Crowley from Supernatural. Not a snake in the literal sense, but definitely in the figurative sense.

I have no idea if Thomas actually watches Supernatural, but I figured that it was popular enough of a show that I could get away with it without breaking the suspension of disbelief. :)
