It actually seems to me that ui and itou were more upset about hirako not telling them about his plan rather than being upset that he betrayed ccg. So if he really did just ask and talk to them, they mightve considered joining him!

I agree with your first sentence; I don’t think that is the case in your second statement. It’s more complicated than just that.

I do think Arima & Hirako have their reasons for alienating their closed ones from their plan… perhaps to protect them… yet I do understand Ui & Itou’s reactions.
