ghoul versions of myself and my flatmate miranda (@urban-sorcerer) for ghoulsona week!

we’re a couple of ghouls based in and around boston, which is where we go to uni (currently). the circus is loosely based upon our school, actually, though this is not the first time we’ve mocked up a secret society conspiracy about our school. we’re pretty infamous in the history department (the irl one, not the one in this universe haha) for starting the vampire coven conspiracy, the byzantine cult, and a society of alchemists and demonologists. apart from the history department, i do have a soviet literature-based ‘political interest group’ in the russian department (’just call yourselves “socialists”, for crying out loud’, says my dad), and i heard that miranda has apparently started some kind of miltonian heresy in the english department.
since the two of us mainly specialise in imperial history and contemporary history, we thought to combine our ~savvy knowledge~ about empires, propaganda, and political revolution into an urban mafia that mainly congregates in online chatrooms, and runs along the various subway, train, and bus lines in the greater boston area. the ‘circus’ element is both a nod to our school’s actual ~unique heritage~ and also my childhood fascination with circuses and carnivals.
we haven’t actually thought much about our agenda. mainly, miranda has a power fantasy, and i just want to cause some trouble, incite some chaos, fight some people. so the perfect solution was to just create a mafia?? i admit that it’s a typical ‘boston’ thing, but tbh a mafia is way cooler than a normal gang.
if i had to say something about it, i’d say it’s probably a guerrilla organisation against the north american ccg, aiming to just cause as much trouble as possible. we don’t actually hope for acceptance of ghouls or dominance of ghouls in this world (lmao i’m very nihilistic about the world), but we’ll have some fun and put on a show while we can. we trade various things on the black market, including humans (the ones who deserve to get sold), stolen quinques, and other cool stuff. also we hack ccg computers, wipe their drives, and fry their communications and shit. so yeah, fuck the cops, get cash money, rule the dark web.
the only thing that is ‘real’ here (except for the actual subway lines we control and our actual personal interests + backgrounds) is miranda’s radio show, fire in the wire. it’s going to end soon because she’ll be leaving boston for either san francisco or london, but she does play wicked tunes on late night radio (1 AM - 2 AM EST) under the dj name phoenix. you may still be able to catch the last few shows at wmfo.org on thursdays/fridays (i have no idea how many are left).
and the other two ghouls i mention. ‘black tiger’ is my younger brother shuusaku, and ‘goldfish’ is miranda’s and my old roommate, carp. if i have time i may fit them in another post, but i’m not sure if i’ll be able to complete my homework and stuff on time, rip. they’re not very high-priority because neither of them watch/read tg, but i wanted to draw them if i had the time. you can still ask me questions about them if you like! shuu has an especially ~complicated~ backstory, because my brother is an extra fucking bitch.
