With the visiting royals came a whole host of other people - their servants, the staff, and more importantly, the guards. While Dante wasn't going to call himself overly paranoid, he did want to know the people closest to his guests if only so he could ask later what his own guards thought of them.

"You are with the Austrians, yes?" He thought that he'd seen the man with one of the princesses earlier, but it was so hard to be certain and besides - sometimes it did well not to show everything that you knew. "I hope everything has been agreeable, both to the family and to those of you guarding them." Wouldn't want his guests thinking he wasn't concerned with their safety, after all.

"My sympathies for your loss." The death of a relative was something that Dante wasn't sure he understood properly, as he'd been born with someone else's demise and never had the chance to mourn, but simply to be angry. Things had to be different with a brother, didn't they? Still, there was little time for mourning when you were a king, and that wasn't what Dante wished to speak with him about.

"As the king, do you find that you're adjusting well?" How much preparation had he experienced for the role of being a king? Considering that both of them seemed to have similar parentage, Dante felt compelled to look after Jakob to an extent, to make sure that he did well.

There were certain people that arrived at a party and you immediately accepted that with their appearance came the chance that they would cause a scene. Such was Dante's reaction to seeing the King of Scotland from the corner of his eye, red hair seeming brighter than the jewels in his crown as candles flickered, their flame reflected from elegant mirrors.

"It's good that you've made it. Was the trip well?" Even though events that plagued what seemed to be the entire world had cleared up, that didn't mean that the seas were guaranteed to be pleasant, and if the stories were true and Robert had a pregnant mistress as well as an unhappy wife to attend to, then even the smoothest of seas could offer an unhappy boat trip.

"It's an honor to have you here." The words were sincere, perhaps more so than they would have been to the Emperor of her land. While every royal that showed up was further validation that the gathering in Switzerland wasn't to be missed, there had to be some draw that made it that way. And this woman, decadent as she appeared, was one of them with her singing career.

Offering her his arm as if she were royalty, Dante inclined his head towards her. "I'd hoped to speak with you about the event. I understand that it's short noticed, but I'd hoped that you would be able to perform for the feast." Certainly, Switzerland had its own bands that could provide the music for dancing, but she would be far more noteworthy.
