Backstory:
Was grown, and then compleated to be a Negator at first, but when the need for her ran out, she was re-purposed for mechanic purposes. Including but not limited to, repairing Phyrexias fourth sphere machinery, portals and portalships, and assorted warmachines.
About halfway through the war, she and her small crew were sent to Dominaria on multiple occasions to repair damaged ships and machinery. She rarely saw battle upfront, though as she was not sent to directly fight. Her main, and largest battle was when she survived one of the ships being shot out of the sky by the Weatherlight and had to fight her way back to get new orders.
At the end of the war, when yawgmoth was defeated, the airship she was currently on went out of control and crashed into a canyon in Bogarden. Thaclel wasn’t killed, but was damaged, traumatized by seeing her god fall in a flash of brilliant light, and buried in the wreckage. She was knocked unconscious and lay dormant for many many years.
She was discovered by accident by a group of scavengers aiming to dig up the remains of her ship for their own reasons. After being poked and prodded by scavengers she awoke. She found her body damaged, both her right arms had been crushed when the ship crashed, one missing entirely. Her right leg was damaged to the point of being nonfunctional.
She planeswalked to Kamigawa after a small skirmish, where she was nearly killed by a powerful pyromancer (plus mixed with all this weird new awareness stuff.) She appeared mid air and crashed heavily into Konda Hideo’s* zen garden.
Thaclel was injured, in a strange place, and horribly horribly confused about pretty much everything. New thoughts and levels of thought had clouded her mind, she couldn’t get up or move around. She lashed out at Hideo when he approached to see what had happened, which lead to him containing her.
She spent an unknown (to her) amount of time locked away due to her violent outbursts and initial hostile behavior. But in that time she had slowly started to calm down and slowly gained an interest in observing her surroundings, and these strange new fleshlings that inhabited this new plane. It was also during this time Hideo discovered that her oil did not spread or infect, even by the tiniest amount.
Eventually she and Hideo came to an agreement, he would teach her about her newfound ability, emotions, and potential for magic if she would make effort to understand the value of life, self, and others. Hideo also repaired her damaged body through magic (and the help of some of his students.) But since he did not know her original design, or much about phyrexians. He simply mirrored her left side, hence her strange, symmetrical limbs. Thaclel accepted this with the intent to betray him, take her new knowledge of this new power and this strange new plane, and return to Phyrexia.
She learned of the sheer amount of time since the war, and of Phyrexia’s destruction. At first she refused to accept yawgmoths defeat, even with the imagery of the bright, horrifying light still fresh in her mind. She needed to make a new plan but..
A hotheaded student of Hideo’s by the name of Masakado had taken a liking to poking fun at her, often leading to quarrels between the two. Thaclel found him horribly distracting and annoying, but at the same time slowly came to enjoy his company and more chaotic brand of having fun. Over time they became inseparable. She and Hideo also had a massive brawl, which led to her at least gaining a small amount of subconscious respect for him. Masakado is also responsible for teaching her the fire-breath spell.
An incident of Ogres attacking Hideo’s school over a personal vendetta resulted in many deaths, including Masakado. Thaclel had not made an effort to save him, just stood there watching as he was slowly killed unsure what to do, should she help? He was weak, the weak deserved to die.. but she was unable to understand why it felt so terrible. She has yet to forgive herself. The guilt only grows stronger as she lives on and understands her emotions and newfound life more.
Not much happened after that. She distanced herself from the students, and even Hideo after that for the longest time. Eventually she started hanging around the fight-happy Yamato, and slowly started coming around again. Around this time was when she was introduced to the idea of forging. This led to her crafting her warhammer, Masakado, named after her friend. Though the interest in forging didn’t last.
Thaclel started planeswalking more, when previously she would barely do so. She found a small uninhabited plane of iron fields and low metal-spewing volcanoes she claimed as her own getaway spot. Slowly, Thaclel began to become curious of the multiverse for reasons beyond the standard Phyrexian thoughts.
She aims for the rush of pleasure found in exploring new and strange places and fighting new and strange creatures. At this point her thoughts of returning to phyrexia are all but gone. Thaclel looks forward to paving (or blasting) her own path and fully enjoys the freedom her spark and newfound life bring her. Currently she has taken up an interest in constructing various types of vehicles. Inspired by repairing her own airship and seeing the new and strange designs found on Kaladesh
